Another beautiful day in Arizona. Only about 85 degrees. I spent most of it outside. The contractor renovating the house across asked for my input on the landscaping, since I have to look at the house.

Juggling jobs tonight, but I've got the stereo on the background and my ear picked up on  this great, cynical lyric from the five-times-married Alan Jay Lerner: "You can buy a new woman/But never a pal."

Has anyone linked the highly unusual marketing campaign of Pulitzer Prize finalist THE ELABORATE ENTRANCE OF CHAD DEITY:

DR Jennifer - Ah, yes, I was talking about "Idol", not "DWTS".  I guess I had skimmed your original post, and as soon as I saw "DialIdol", I went with "AI". Spoo!

-I'm not watching "DWTS".

-Nor am I watching this round of "The Celebrity Apprentice" since it's become a bit obvious that NBC has been treating it as a "filler" show by having to come up with enough clips and soundbites to fill so many 2-hour slots on Sunday nights this season.  It's not that I don't like the show, I just don't feel a need a watch it.  -And I keep thinking that Donald Trump should just go ahead and give money to all the charities that the celebrity contestants are "competing" for instead of having anyone compete for the money.

DR Jose that sounds cool about the LOST parties.  I think it could be very neat to watch with other fans. Although I don't like distractions. So maybe I would not enjoy it with others around. Although if they are all true fans that i'm sure they will mostly be quiet.

This group of "Lost" fans take the show very seriously. I'm pretty sure that it will be one of the quietest parties on record. ;)

And speaking of the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, I stopped by the BGICT earlier today/yesterday with my friends Brendan and Lukus.  They busked for their ice cream!

They performed a cool acoustic version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face/Bad Romance".  Doug even joined in with some ice cream truck percussion and some cool harmonies on the chorus.

que es busked?

THIS is the last minute of their busking.  Lukus is a little pitchy - which he freely admits to - but he had also not warmed up, and there was a lot of white noise from the BGICT generator.  However, it's still fun to watch and listen too.  And Doug did reward them with some ice cream. Lukus chose a Vanilla soft-serve with Olive Oil and Sea Salt, and Brendan got a "Salty Pimp" (vanilla softserve, dulce de leche, sea salt, chocolate dip).

Here's Atlanta's answer to the Big Gay Ice Cream truck:

http://kingofpops.net/

Handcrafted popsicles, and you can follow him on twitter, etc. to see where he's at. I haven't had one yet but I hear they're delish!  Examples: White chocolate with raspberry top, Chocolate sea salt, lemon lavender, canteloupe basil, Strawberry Pineapple, endless variety!

Actually...

Popsicle have become something of a "craze" here in NYC lately.  There are a couple of "artisanal popsicle" stands that have been opening up over the past couple of months, and, well..

people's pops, which started two summers ago at the Brooklyn Flea, recently opened up a stand in Chelsea Market.  So far, I've tried Rhubarb-Jasmine, Blueberries & Cream, Apricot-Cardamom & Pear-Maple-Yogurt.  All quite tasty!

Here's a breakdown of some other popsicle vendors from The New York Times.

As for tonight's "American Idol"...

The show finally kicked into gear tonight.  Let's just hope that "America" does not derail things tomorrow night.

As for tonight's "Lost"...

It was a good set up for Sunday's finale.  I know a couple of people who think they have figured it all out.  As for myself, I'm just continuing to enjoy the ride.  It's "easier" that way - I only think about the show while I'm watching it. ;)

As for tonight's "Glee"...

I thought it was a good episode, but also somewhat of a downer.  But a good downer.  It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

DR JRand, you should check around and see if Randy Sparks and his Christy Minstrels will be in your area. They have played Salem twice in the last 5 years.
