I have heard multiple times how good the actress playing Lisbeth is even if she is too tall.
She really was quite wonderful in the part, and the director does his best to make her seem shorter than the actress is in real life.

...And then my friend, Eric, called me up to invite me to tag along with him and our friends, Michael and Elizabeth, up to City Island for some totally yummilicious fried seafod - as well as some very(!) strong(!!!!!!) strawberry daiquiris.   We then all headed over to Arthur Avenue for some dessert and house-made chocolate vodka - which was on-the-house! <hiccup>

Back from the rest of my errands.  I had to get a new battery for the iPhone - turns out they don't do new batteries, they just give you a new phone.  So, I got a new 3G, but I also upgraded to the new 3GS which, for reasons unknown, was $100 less than it usually is - so the new phone cost only 97 bucks - pretty amazing.  And a friend wanted my old one, and they're paying me fifty bucks, so net cost around forty-seven bucks.

bk - Even though it hasn't been officially announced, the new iPhone 4G will be released in two weeks.  Even Wal-Mart lowered the prices on their existing stock of iPhone 3GS's in order to clear out that inventory.

However... I'm a bit confused regarding your upgrade... So... You got a new 3G AND a new 3GS? -Did you have to sign a new two-year AT&T contract to get that pricing on the new 3GS?

And/or was your old iPhone still under warranty/AppleCare?

You know, I asked them if a new one was coming, and they said they had no idea.  However, if it does come in two weeks, then I can exchange - they have a thirty day exchange program.  So, we'll see.  And yes, the old iPhone was still under its Apple Care, so that phone was free.

And here is Robert Hurwitz's response.

*Which seems to be a bit over-loaded right now.

Funny, I've never seen any evidence of them spending 30K per show.  Really?  How?  They've got five or six shows in every theater, so whatever the theater cost is is, I'm sure, being covered by all their charges, which are plentiful.

The Apple Store employees are not allowed to say anything about it, however there have been some tell-tale signs:

-A few weeks ago, AT&T Store employees were told that no vacations or days off would be approved for the second and third weeks of June.
-Wal-Mart did their price-drop thing.
-Apple followed suite - albeit quietly.
-Some online outlets have mysteriously ran out of iPhone 3GS's

Hmmm...

And when I asked my two friends who are Mac Genii, well...

And all I really want to know now is: What are the salaries of the NYMF Administration and Staff?

Off to bed with another too-early start in the morning. Night, all.

As for today... I had a brief meet-up/meeting with some friends down at City Bakery this morning, then I wandered back over the Highline... Then through Chelsea Market... Then another meeting in the afternoon... Then I sat on a bench in Central Park for a bit enjoying the surprisingly cool breeze... And about an hour later, I realized I had fallen asleep on said bench. :)

I've had a delicious chicken pot pie from Harriet's Kitchen for dinner and I think I will chill out for a while, watch some tv, and read the latest issue of GRAMOPHONE. I'm very sleepy.

Hmmm... And Harriet's has a pretty darn good Hamburger too!... And Fried Chicken!.... Hmmm...

Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell in Broadway Melody Of 1940 Doing BEGIN THE BEGUINE. Frank Sinatra mentioned in That's Entertainment that " You can wait around and hope, but you'll never see the likes of this again" I truly believe that statement. It's A Once In A Lifetime Moment.

Oh, Arnold M. Brockman, you said an ever-lovin' mouthful!

Another Astaire-Rogers favorite is from "The Barkleys of Broadway."

Actually, it was nominally a throwaway number as it was danced under the main title and film credits at the start of the picture.

The Swing Trot , with the credits removed!

Well, I'm off to my parents' house to visit with my aunt.

Be back later!

Don't forget your toolbox.

der Brucer

Fortunately, it was not needed.  I called after I left work and it turns out that my mom and aunt went to the casino, so no visit tonight.  Tomorrow, we're all going to my sister's house for tacos...and no tools will be needed, either. :D

My nephew Daniel got the results of his tests today and it is not very good. He has Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and my brother Dan, Daniel's dad, says that there is a 50 percent chance of survival.

Poor Dan. He is only 24 and has two small kids. He will be heading up the Oregon Health Services University in a few day to begin treatment.
