I'm back, BK, from my midday errands.  Now, I will tell you that I'll be kind of scarce Saturday-Tuesday, because I'm taking my mother to visit her oldest grandchild (remember my niece Laura who was with me in NYC for DR PennyO's show?).  I will have my computer with me, but probably will only post from time to time.

We seem to have lost DRs Jose and FJL this week.

Jose was here yesterday at 5:40 NY time according to the log but even if he wasn't just because he hasn't been here today doesn't mean he's left. Sometimes life intervenes. People can't post every hour of every day.

Fred was last here on the 4th but he's been busy with other things as well.

I'm sure, when Jose returns, if we need to know why he hasn't been here, he will tell us.

Also, why do you assume we even know what's going on with Jose. Just because we, in NY are friends, doesn't mean we are in constant contact. People don't not want to answer the question, we just don't have an answer.

Relax, please.

I love of a lot of Lerner's work for some of his non-hit shows (OK, flops), but especially when wedded to the music of Burton Lane in "Carmelina" and Charles Strouse in "Dance a Little Closer." But I especially admire his set of lyrics for "Love Life" with Kurt Weill's music. My favorite might be "Economics" with the simplicity of the following lines standing out:

You got a little money.
You got a little honey.
Money go?
Honey go.

Since there is no recording of this special score, I had to put together one of my own using the 80 percent or so of it that was recorded individually by the likes of Kaye Ballard, Jerry Orbach and Lerner himself.

I have done the same pulling tracks from: Kurt Weill Revisited Volume #1 & 2, Alan Jay Lerner Revisited, Kurt Weill On Broadway, Lyrics By Lerner,

The Harrison Ford/Brendan Fraser film was, of course, filmed right here in li'l ol' Portland.  I have quite a few friends in that film.  I haven't seen it yet.  :)

I was just commenting that I didn't recall seeing either of them in a coupel of days online!

TOD:  I may be guilty of taking your request too literally, but my favorite Lerner "lyric" is....

"The mist of May is in the gloamin',
and all the clouds are holdin' still.
So take my hand and let's go roamin'
through the heather on the hill.

"The mornin' dew is blinkin' yonder.
There's lazy music in the rill,
And all I want to do is wander
through the heather on the hill."

You took it the same way I took it, Ron.

So Peter Finch has won two Oscars?   ;D

Considering the age difference, I am not sure I would call it winning!

Well, I do my best as far as posts when I get home from work.  Unfortunately, we are not allowed to post from work.

But the good news, I suppose for BK's posting total, beginning in July I may yet be furloughed one day a month for a year.  So that is an extra day a month of posts.

However, if we are going to talk about posts, there really is an elephant in the room.  Matt H. posted over 53,000 times.  That is very hard to make up that difference and still work for a living.

Ginny, if you are going to be gone for several days, you need to stock up extra posts ahead of time.  Either that or you can give Richard your password and he can post and pretend he is you.   ;D
