Funny, I always thought his name was Bark Makalor.  Happy Birthday!  ;)

TOD:

I like THE TOWERING INFERNO and, to a lesser extent, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE original.

The bad disaster movies I either avoid or tend to quickly forget.

Re: George Segal

He does look totally different.  I saw him on ENTOURAGE a few nights ago and could hardly recognize him.

He has a recurring role on that show.

YIKES!  DR DtM - that's why I always ask The Person In Charge to do my painting - I wouldn't do it right anyway.

I was visiting SF when THE TOWERING INFERNO's exteriors were being filmed.  We stood around and watched the filming for quite some time.  I saw both Paul Newman and Steve McQueen.

I watched the Daytime Emmys last night. It was sort of odd. They held it in Las Vegas. And they had a long tribute to Dick Clark and American Bandstand.  IT was sort of entertaining. But they were definitely gearing the show to an older audience.

They focused more on performances and less on awards.

I've read tvguide.com for awhile but I never realized that there was a tvguide.ca.  I just discovered it a few weeks ago.

I think I mentioned a little while ago that there was a woman (amber) who answers all questions you have re: Canadian tv programming.  She is amazing!  Since we don't get US Bravo, TNT, USA... we have no idea when these shows will air here. And it is impossible to get answers from the stations websites (you'd think they would answer their emails). But somehow she has connections and can get all the answers.  Bravo for Ask Amber!

I am currently reading Meg Cabot's new adult book. I've always been a big fan of her other adult books (and she has a few teen series that are quite adult and i love those too). But her latest, INSATIABLE, is a vampire book. Very odd for her. So far i'm half way through and I actually like it. IT's so different for her.

Speaking of vampires, is anyone here planning on seeing ECLIPSE?  I am a big fan of the books. I saw TWILIGHT in the theatres and was not that impressed. But new director for NEW MOON (i didn't see this in the theatres only on dvd) and i really liked it. So another new director for the third movie. I'm not sure if I will see this in the theatre. I'm thinking I might. I just hope it lives up to the book.

TOD:

DANTE'S INFERNO
THE LAST VOYAGE

When I was a kid I loved TOWERING INFERNO, POSEIDEN ADVENTURE, and EARTHQUAKE. Don't know that I would put them in my "favorites" now, however.

I am back from Dr Miller, whom I really like, and the pharmacist. I have a terrible dental abscess, no dental insurance, and a need to sell that damned property so I can pay for the work I need, so keep them real estate vibes coming. Dr Miller has me on antibiotics to fight the abscess and, as soon as my check from the last McGlinnventory arrives, I'm off to the NYU dental clinic. However, selling that property for $700,000+ would certainly alleviate my dental worries, and I know my two jerk brothers, who foolishly don't want to involve a realtor who would take too much money from what is essentially FOUND MONEY, will settle for only more than that.
