I am watching the weirdest production of Frank Wedekind's play "Sprng Awakening," titled THE AWAKENING OF SPRING that seems to be a filmed theatre production, with the setting moved from 19th Century Vienna to America in an unspecified time. All the names are Americanized and the cast includes John Aniston, constance Towers, and Jason Graae! I'm not sure how I like it.

Oldies.com should really be a little more careful with their advertising.  I am not sure that e-mails bragging that they have Milos Forman's Black Peter is really the correct way to increase sales.

We had a good dinner at the Greek fest and saw many friends, but it was too hot and humid to stay outside for long.  I had the stuffed pepper dinner, Richard had the Greek lasagna, and Rob had lamb.  We all had green beans and orzo as sides, along with salad and rolls.  We brought home a box of assorted pastries.  Rob has gone to meet some friends for a movie and Richard and I are back in the AC watching BONES.

Is there any way to find out who was in the national tour of PROMISES, PROMISES?  I don't remember who played the leads (they were very good), but I seem to recall that Marian Mercer and / or Edward Winter was in the tour.

Tony Roberts did the part in Los Angeles, and Jack Kruschen was also in the cast.  Don't recall who played the female lead and 2nd male lead (i.e. the Fred MacMurray part).

In early April 1972, in Ann Arbor, MI, Will Mackenzie played Chuck Baxter and Sydnee Balaber played Fran Kubelik.

I also received JAUGGERNAUT at my house today.

DR BEN.....be sure to watch for Susan's wardrobe malfunction during the title song....near the end when all of the dancers begin to circle her and her partner and he picks her up....but her dress doesn't cooperate.

The London Promises is absolutely superb.  I was so thrilled when I scored the LP years ago from BK's former close personal acquaintance Brian (is that right?) at A1 Record Finders on Melrose.  I found so many wonderful cast recordings there many years ago and Brian also went out of his way to score me some very rare bossa nova LP's.

Bruce, I posted about this at the A&M Board, where some curmudgeons had been complaining about you not releasing the OLC along with the OBC.   ::)

I certainly enjoyed many of the episodes of the Official Second Season of THE LUCY SHOW this week.

But Gale Gordon as Mr Theodore Mooney is so irritating.....all his does is yell and make Lucy Carmichael cry....his only reason for being in the show.  No variation in the writing or the performance....and I was tired of it by the end of that season.....but it went on through the entire run....and the next LUCY show AND the Last Lucy Series.

DR JMK - to judge by the LP selection at the Mooresville Goodwill Store - there is no such thing as a rare Bossa Nova record.
