I've had a craving for Dino's Pizza for the last eight months and today I satisfied it with a small pizza.  While there are six slices in a small, they are half the size of a regular large pizza's slices - so it was like having around four.  But I'll do another mile and a half jog later.

And of course as soon as I burned it, I thought of more songs, but, like editing, sometimes you just have to decide you're done and wrap it up!

Well, as much as I love Volume 1, I don't intend to give you the opportunity to produce a sequel!

Unless it's intended for the next level of rehab!

Very nice story Bruce, and extra nice you will meet them to sign the book in person.

It's a good thing you are doing, Cillaliz.

Thanks DR Laura...and a great thing happened at Walmart.  I was walking around fuming to myself about the Marshals not getting my client to town at the beginning of last week as promised and how difficult they were making my job and the problems I may have with late exhibits and the judge not understanding..... and I ran into two different people who changed my whole attitude.

The first was our local human rights commission director who is facing a huge public attempt to have her fired. It's a long drawn out story, but the things she's dealing with make my problems seem really minimal.  We had a nice conversation. It was the first chance I've had to express my support for her and I was happy I ran into her.

Then I ran into the judge for my trial on Monday!   He said "Are we going to have fun in trial this week?"  I told him that I thought so and then very calmly told him of the difficulties I've had since my client didn't get her until Friday.  He was surprised and wondered why the Marshals didn't him here sooner.  I said I was still getting clothes etc and that I may have a couple late exhibits because of it.  We didn't discuss the merits of the case, that would be improper, just the fact that my client was too far away for me to run and see him until Friday (I wasn't entitled to have copies of the government exhibits until last Monday).  This is such a relief.  Now he knows the situation so if I have something last minute on Monday morning, he isn't going to freak out about it

WHEW!!  I am so relieved.

The nicest thing just happened--the doorbell rang and when I answered it, it was our backyard neighbors who had brought doggie treats and wanted to officially meet the dogs (and, I guess, the humans they came with LOL).  Really, really nice people and so sweet of them to bring treats for thed dogs.

I believe that a hundred million miracles are happening every day... (yes Flower Drum Song, reference)  Perhaps I define miracle broadly, but I don't know what else to call it

On the downside, I spent so much time talking to the people I ran into in Walmart that my burgandy cherry chocolate ice cream totally melted (the hot car didn't help any) hopefully it will still taste good when it refreezes

Cilla, I LOVE your quote!

I hadn't read it.  It is a good one. :)

I think it is sweet how much effort you put into clothes shopping for your clients.  I still remember the underpants hunt.

Jeanne, my doctor suggested fish oil, and I asked about ground flax seed, and he said to use it.

Many doctors do.

I don't get clothes for clients who have relatives who can and will do it. That's most of my clients.  But every so often there is a client for a trial who has no one.  Appearance makes a huge difference in a trial and I'm not going to lose because my client didn't have appropriate clothes to wear

In all my moves no one has ever shown up with doggie treats.  Cute! :)

And the funniest part of it was they didn't accept the boxers, so I still have them at my office.  Brand new in the package.

You need to add "boxers or briefs" to your client questionnaire, a la that fake bank ad for Internet Explorer.  :)

John G., maybe I misread one of your posts yesterday; but I thought you wrote that Reno opens ANYTHING GOES with "I Get A Kick Out of You."  But she doesn't in any prodcution I have ever seen. I have always seen the show open with "You're The Top."
The original production opened with Merman alone on stage singing "I Get a Kick Out of You." Or so I've read, since I'm really not that old (though I sometimes feel it). I checked the McGlinn recording and sure enough it was there right after the overture. I found this in Miles Krueger's notes: "Cole Porter once confided in me that he wanted no opening chorus, a standard convention of the time, and insisted upon placing the show's biggest hit, "I Get a Kick Out of You" within the first five minutes of the first scene. It seems that his society friends thought it was amusing to drift into the theatre fifteen or twenty minutes after the curtain had gone up, so that all their friends could observe what they were wearing. Because he regarded such behavior as rude to both audience and actors alike, he warned his friends for weeks before the opening that they had better arrive on time or they would miss the big song: with a wry smirk, he added that they never forgave him."

No sequels, but we can add to the list:

"My Heart Is so Full Of You" from "Most Happy Fella."

What else?
