Saturday morning greetings!  Yesterday's 6:30am wake-up call caught up with me about 9:30 last night and I crashed in the middle of watching BLOOD DIAMOND with DS Rob.  Today's agenda includes walking in the basement (looks like rain), going to the grocery, watching Michigan/Notre Dame, and making chicken spaghetti for dinner.

TOD - pink carnations.  Actually, any carnations because they last a long time and I like the fragrance.  Roses are overrated, IMHO.  The only flowers we have in our yard are a couple of patches of daffodils, another flower that I like very much.

Some leftovers, as promised. Steak and the most amazing fried shrimp at a Texas roadhouse called Josephine St. Cafe.

And for dessert: Raspberry pecan pie buried under vanilla ice cream.

I've juggled the recording schedule again and now I'm waiting to hear from our musical director and several singers that tis change will affect.

God, I hate this nonsense! And I suspect this will continue every day until the recording finishes in January.

Nice looking food, John!

Perhaps I shall take a photo of the camp food next time I am up at some church camp.

My goodness. There is no sisterly love in this house. These two gals are still yowling and growling at each other. I wonder what went on between them yesterday.

Last night I sight read a run through of La Cage - I'll be playing accordion and various synth things for the production.  But I had the best time.  This show is still amazing after 20+ years.  Looking forward to the run.

And now, off to Youth Choir rehearsal.  It's the first rehearsal under my leadership.  I'm expecting 2 people.  More about that later....

I love lilies. All kinds. Around my outdoor home environment I have a ton of white lilies, Cannas, and assorted asiatic lilies.

I thought that in Arizona, all flowers were sundried.

The kitties finally did quiet down, but this morning they are growling at each other again. So I guess there goes the chance that they might get adopted together.

To cure the problem I would give my cats baths and remove the scent of the vet, plus then they smelled the same good scent.  Since you can't bathe them after surgery try wiping them down, with distilled if you have it, water and maybe brushing their coats with a touch of mineral oil or something nice but not overpowering.

Is it as attractive as a military MRE or more like Jell-O molds and deviled eggs?

Made it through the exercise class without too much pain (at least for now; tomorrow may be another story). And wrote a friend's bio. I think I need an afternoon nap.

The weather here is crazy. It was supposed to be 13C this morning and a high of 21C this afternoon (high 60s).

So when I went to see my niece's soccer tournament at 10am I dressed for 15C. But it was so hot. It must have been 70s and I was boiling hot. Way to go weather channel!

Those fried shrimps look so good.

One thing I'm craving which I have not had for ages are fried clams. I'm not even sure where they sell them here.

First I heard this sound:
http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/36/_/Coopers_Hawk.aspx (press listen to call)

I stopped and asked the gentleman looking up into the tree what the sound was.  Just after he said a Cooper's Hawk the hawk flew out of the tree so I could see it.  For a close up of a Cooper's Hawk:

Fried clams are wonderful. Steamed clams, grilled clams. Clams are perhaps my favorite food.
