Damn! I have misplaced a necessary document and I have no idea where the hell I put it. I'm hoping it's at Toyland since i really cannot find it here. I will have to ask the Library of Cngress for another copy and I hate admitting that I've lost something important.

OK...

I've drank a couple of glasses of water.

I've eaten some food: a nice wedge of spanakopita and a "roll" of galaktoboureko.

And I've caught up on the posts.

So...

I wasn't walking down steps with paint.  I was painting the wall next to some steps.  No way to do that without the paint can being open.  :)  My mistake was stepping back to see my paint job without realizing I was right at the lip of the landing.

Galaktobureuko is paradise in pastry form. It's temptation. It's seduction. It's surrender. It's all that and more.

I almost just fell down one of the many flights of steps in this house with a nearly full, open can o' paint.  That was too close for comfort.

Well, the next time you actually do fall down a flight of steps with an open can of paint, just make sure someone is filming it.  That set-up just screams "YouTube Viral Video".

JMK, this new house of yours seems to be full of ... uh,... exciting adventures?

Well, just as long as flies don't start mysteriously appearing in the interior rooms and blood starts seeping from the basement walls, he should be fine.

This afternoon we had a huge downpour with lots of wind.....right when I was taking the cats out of the house, into the car, to the vet, and back.   They were not the least bit amused.  They howled the entire way.  I was amazed at my patience. They now have their shots and the doctor said to quit giving Boo the brand of treats I'm using and she may quit throwing up.
Poor you and the babies.  OK, I had to laugh at the simple solution to the problem.  VIBES IT TRULY IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION!!

Well, I had already thought about that as the solution and brought it up to the vet.  She just agreed

So...

A friend of mine called me up yesterday since he was in need of a pianist for an audition he had this morning.  Well, it was more like a "hearing" - he was singing for an agent in the hopes of getting representation.  He had rattled off a list of songs that he had prepared, and it was all stuff that I had played before. So, we planned a brief rehearsal for this morning before heading to the agent's office. Well..

He had mentioned that he was singing "Ich grolle nicht" from Schumann's song cycle, "Dichterliebe".  After running through two arias, we started on the Schumann.  Well...

He opened his music, and instead of "Ich grolle nicht", he placed "Im wunderschönen Monat Mai" in front of me - the first song of the cycle. Hmmm... OK.  We went through it. Then went on to the second song of the cycle... Then the third... -It turned out he had prepared the WHOLE song cycle and not just "Ich grolle nicht". And that's when I stopped breathing. I guess I should mention that the agent used to be a concert pianist, so...

After I had explained to him that the last time I had played through the whole cycle was about 15 years ago, we went ahead and selected five of them to present for the agent.  -I mean, this was just a "hearing", not a recital.

We then headed up to the agent's apartment/office, and she asked to hear the Mozart aria first, "Dalla sua pace". Then the aria from "Le Roi d'Ys".

"That's all I really need to hear today. That was wonderful."

...And that's when I started breathing again.

Whew!

DR Jose, had you at some point mentioned the internet cooking show DOIN' IT WITH ETHAN?

It sounds very familiar. Anyway, here is the latest segment featuring OUTSOURCED cast member Parvesh Cheena (who is such a nice guy).

It is rather amusing: http://doinitwithethan.com/celebrity-interview/parvesh-cheena-is-doin-it-with-ethan/

DR MBarnum - Hmm, I don't recall ever mentioning "Doin' it with Ethan".  At least not it terms of an internet series.

This Professor who is writing the Farmer article wants several pics from me and is insisting the publication (which is online) requires 2400 dpi.  I think she meant 240 dpi, as every website I have worked for doesn't deal with anything over 300 dpi (and usually it's as low as 72 dpi).  Plus, you need to compress photos that huge to email anyway.  We shall see.

Um, 2400dpi is definitely beyond what's normally asked for. The only time someone would usually for something that "detailed" would be if they were going to blow up the pictures to large format. -Are posters involved? Or will it be for a cover of "W"? ;)

The Joe Allen's list is BK, Ben and Anthony, FJL, Jose, Julie, KevinH, Larry, Vixmom, Vixter, and a possibility of Noel making it 10 people with a possibility of 11.

Noel - Just let me know by noon that day whether you can make it .  We should be fine as long as we have the exact count for me to call in around noon.

DR FJL - Are we doing dinner? appetizers? snacks and drinks?  -I need to plan my afternoon culinary trekking. ;)
