It could only help!

I have oatmeal every day but I still haven't acquired the taste.

TOD:

I agree with several of the best performances choices already.  Certainly Ian McKellan in Amadeus, which was absolutely a brilliant tour de force the likes I've never seen.  I also saw Mr. Robards in Hughie and he was magnificent.  And Jennifer Holliday was incredible, too.  But I'd add to the musical list - Tammy Grimes in Molly Brown, Joel Grey in Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, Robert Morse in Sugar, William Daniels in 1776. Dorothy Collins in Follies.  For plays, I'd also add Hermione Gingold in Oh, Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad, Kendall Clark and Michaele Myers in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (the matinee tour cast), Tammy Grimes and Brian Bedford in Private Lives, Anthony Hopkins in Equus (a brilliant turn), Mary Louise Parker in Prelude to a Kiss and Communicating Doors, and Lily Tomlin in The Search for Intelligent Signs of Life in the Universe.

Yikes!  I forgot about Lily Tomlin in THE SEARCH FOR...

Other performances I would add:

Zoe Caldwell in MASTER CLASS and another MEDEA
Jane Lapotaire in PIAF
Tom Conti in WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY?

For those who watch THE AMAZING RACE who are your favorite teams so far?

I personally am thrilled that we have such strong all female teams. There are 3 that I think have a chance to do well. And I actually like all 3:

1.volleyball women
2.home shopping hosts
3.doctors

I don't know enough about them yet to know which will be my favorite. But I thought all 3 teams had potential.

I took an instant dislike for the volleyball women--the way they so quickly labled the accapella boys as "Glee" and "Nerds" was a turn off.

"Volleyball women", eh!  I'm sure you can come up with a couple of nicknames for them to match theirs for the a capellas.

See? I do visit your site. :) And I'm posting and everything -- I feel so officially part of your world now.  I was so pumped last night after our meeting that I ame home and hopped on youtube and spent wayyy too long there in musical theatre land. Youtube and wings are addictive.  In the best possible way, of course. :)

Dear DR Druxy,

Have you ever been to the Congress Street Bridge to watch the bats fly out at dusk?

I have done this once, and from a boat in the middle of the lake near the bridge, so the bats were flying overhead. It was one of the most spectacular things I've ever witnessed. Millions of bats kept coming out from their hiding place under the bridge -- and in some weird formation. They filed out in a line that lasted more than 10 minutes.

Back from my morning errands.  I had my flu shot, picked up a library book, did a little grocery shopping, and got a new battery in my blue watch.  Home now having lunch and watching CNN for news about Pres. Carter and the Univ. of Texas.

We don't know who came up with those nicknames. But I don't find "glee" or "nerds" to be rude or that far off.  I just hope those boys continue to improve. They seemed nice. And I loved listening to them sing.

Teem Glee seemed like a good nickname for those two guys. I didn't think "nerds" was a very good, or nice, description for them, however.

The only team I dislike is the couple that includes that boastful, argumentative guy. His girlfriend seems nice, but someone needs to tell her that she could do a lot better then him.

My favorite team is the father/daughter team.

I like the tattooed team, in that they seem nice, but I don't hold out much hope for them surviving this game for very long. LOL!

The home shopping hosts work well together, and that could get them pretty far.

I have not really gotten to know the other teams well enough to form much of an opinion, yet.

Also, in case you haven't figured it out, I went back to sleep at seven-thirty and slept three more hours, so that was very nice.  Now it's almost time to eat something :)

I watched a couple of the movies I bought.....

MOON with Sam Rockwell, didn't finish it.

COCO BEFORE CHANEL - I liked this movie a lot

HANGOVER - funny movie with some nice guys in it

I truly enjoy THE HANGOVER.  It's one of those movies that I thought I was going to hate, because I thought it was a *teen* comedy along the lines of AMERICAN PIE et al. . .BUT, I laughed many, many times while viewing THE HANGOVER.  The guys are great together and the story is quite humorous, too.
