Tonight for dinner I seared the scallops and then put butter in at the end so I could paste them.  I put them over spaghetti tossed in olive oil and parmesan.  It was really good

I'm glad to see in the photo of seared scallops that there are grease spatters all around the pan.  That's what my stove looked like

Finished with my viewing - very interesting seeing a film I hadn't seen for over forty-five years - there is a very violent act in the film and for all these years I've remembered it happening to a different character - isn't that weird?  The one and only time I saw it was at a sneak preview and I wouldn't go back because the violence was too graphic for me - maybe that's why I misremembered it.  Seeing it now, of course, it's mild, but back then it was pretty gruesome for a mainstream film.

There's a big push from a group of extremists with money to vote no on the retention of the 3 state supreme court justices up for retention due to the gay marriage ruling.   They have a lot of money and a lot of right wing support.   Hopefully saner minds will prevail

Are you going to write about it in the notes, BK? or will you tell us what film you saw?

But, the Republicans from all over the country are already making their appearances in Iowa to run for President in 2012.  Crap.  I was hoping we'd have a year off.

Today I also baked a bath of brownies with hersey's syrup.  Unfortunately I've eaten more than half of them....they do taste really good.

I have heard three reports say that it will start raining at 1:00 PM.  I will be watching the clock to see if they are right

I have to get up very early to get Rick to the vet and then meet with my insurance guy to get some disability insurance.  I really don't want to pay for it, but if something happens, I don't want to lose my house and have to move home with mom and dad.

He looks bigger in the photos than he is.  He's still a fairly small guy

I'm watching "Desperate Housewives."  After that, "Brothers & Sisters" will be on.
