Jane flew.  And boy are her arms tired (especially the broken one).

The day started out to be a disaster, because they had me sitting in the area for comic book artists...and I can't draw a straight line, even with a ruler.

After about 2 hours of that, I complained and they put me up with the "big boys," right behind Lindsay Wagner and Lee Majors [I hope he hasn't read my book].

Once there, I started to do some nice business.

To BK's right is my SECOND surprise of the evening, my friend Tina Paradiso, who was one of Michelle NiCastro's good friends and a cast member of Les Mis.  It turns out BK and Tina know EVERYONE in common, it's been funny listening to them gab all evening.

Would you believe that Lee Majors was charging $60.00 for an autograph?

Billy Dee Williams was charging $40.00.

Tonight I had a really good treat. I took Pomegranate flavored 7-Up (only available during the holidays) and made a float with vanilla ice cream.  It was VERY yummy.  I may have to do that again

Okay, I'm now Up...UP...and Away...to Comic Con.

 ::)

I'll let you know how it goes.
What's the full name of the convention? I will try to make it up there Saturday or Sunday.

It's the Austin Comic Con (aka: Wizard Con).  It's being held at the Austin Convention Center.

If you think you ARE going to come, please try to let me know when.
It would be middle afternoon Saturday. I have a Pilates class until noon, so I would need to clean up before leaving.

I'd never been to a Comic Con before.

Some of the costumes people wear are unbelievable.

The most outrageous was a gal who came as "Poison Ivy".  She was virtually nude, except the skimpiest thong and pasties I've ever seen.

I must admit that I enjoyed it, but there were many kids present and I'm surprised they even let her in.

Great.  I'll make it a point not to cut out early (like I did today).  Or, at least, until I see you and we get a chance to chat.

What I really enjoyed was seeing some people from Los Angeles again.

Had nice visits with Anne Lockhart, Gil Gerard, Joan Severance, Billy Dee Williams, Adam West, Lou Ferigno and Richard Anderson.

Got very moved by the stories of  Arena Stage's "Oklahoma!" and its contemporary take, so even though the parody-tribute will probably reach relatively few folk:

We're fans here of what the Arena Stage accomplishes, so here's a Regional Parody-Tribute
Parody-tribute of "Kansas City" from OKLAHOMA

EVERYTHING'S UP TO DATE AT THE ARENA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIMKGkAaRM

It's only about 2 minutes long.  The folks at the Arena even gave me an OK to put some of their photos in.

wonderful!!!

Back at the hotel after a really fun-filled dinner at JMK and Betsy's place.  Jane was indeed a total surprise and a wonderful one - she looks amazing, and no, we weren't having a serious argument - we never argue seriously - we had a difference of opinion about the time frame during which we dated.  Tina was great fun and so was her husband, and JMK and Betsy were wonderful hosts and the food was most yummilicious.  And their kids are great.

Just finished prepping our announcement for Monday - wrote the blurb, got everything to my online dealer, and we're set to go IF the tracks are ready for me on Sunday afternoon, which I'm pretty sure they will be - this is absolutely the fastest we've ever done anything - I got the tapes to the transfer place on Monday, received the CDRs on Tuesday, realized what everything was, did my edit road map done, did the entire packaging on Thursday, and the mastering guy began on Thursday as well.  Unbelievable, but worth it.  In fact, I may just announce it right here this very evening - and if you love this film do NOT delay in ordering it - I've upped this one to 1200 units and I can tell you that they will be gone very quickly, given the iconic status of both score and film and the fact that this is the world premiere release of the full score and includes the original album presentation, too - 2 CDs at a one CD price.

I'm home...and have been for about a half hour.  Dinner with BK, Jane, JMK and his lovely Betsy and JMK's friend Tina and her husband Jeff was delightfully delightful.  Here are the few pictures that I took.  First, here's our lovely host at the dinner table:

I don't know if this will send us into widescreen because I have a widescreen monitor and it fits. :D

So neat to hear about the gathering in Portland.  Wish more of us could be there.  When are we having an SF Bay Area meet??  Looking forward to living vicariously through all of you this weekend.

The show was great tonight.  Good to see my Aunt and Uncle, and a lot of friends were there.  Felt weird after I left so I came home and put on some 70's soft rock and will just listen to some music for a while.
