DR Cillaliz, re: DWTS, I forget who your mom was cheering for. But what did she think of the results?  I always find it such a hoot when you describe her reactions.

Yep. Well, starting at 9:30 after I watch "Modern Family".  -And then it's being rebroadcast down here at 1:00am later, so I can catch what I missed. -Oh, and it will be on my DVR when I get back to NYC too. ;)

DR Jennifer, it turned out the way she thought it should.   She did say that she was glad Maks and Brandy weren't in the top 3 because she didn't like either Maks or Brandy's attitude.   Actually she loves Derek, so she always wants him to win.  She liked Jennifer the best.  She is still saying she is glad that Maks wasn't in the final because she hates his attitude.

I think her actual quote last night was...."Well, that's how it should be...I'm going to bed"

Ginny, how long to you only have one car?

Well, Rob's in Michigan now for about 10 days, back here for a week or so, then up there again for about 2 weeks around Christmas.  Anytime he's there, there's only one car here.

Set the DVR to record Great Performances!!

I'm just wondering if tonight's PBS broadcast will include Karen Olivo and company singing "America", and/or Alexander Gemignani singing "Something's Coming"?

Back from my various and sundried travels and seeing Jason Graae's run-through of his new Jerry Herman act.  He did it at a retirement home in Burbank for a very appreciative audience of elderly folks, including his delightfully delightful mother.  All the songs in the show are great and Jason is, as always, a complete pro and wonderfully funny.  Afterwards he asked me what I thought and because he only wants honesty, I told him that I didn't feel the order of the show was quite right and that the beginning of the show, unusually for him, felt awkward to me.  I recommended flipping around five numbers and he was very keen on that - I was especially strong about the second slot as he has a perfect number for it, one he now does in the middle of the show where it works fine but not as well as it would work second - it's what I call the comfort position, where you do something fun and endearing and let the audience know they're in safe and good hands - I also felt it was important for Jason to be Jason right up front.  By the end of it, he at least saw the reasoning - whether he does it or not is totally up to him and he'll make the right decision, I'm sure.  I also recommended that they focus the "overture" a little more and get a musical joke in right away (right now they start it with a ballad) - and I said it needed a big "overture" like opening with Hello, Dolly's tune - something that says Jerry Herman and Overture right off the bat.  That was it.  I may drive up to Palm Desert on Saturday to see it, if I'm feeling like I won't mind the two-hour drive.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I've been more or less awake since about 5:30, because Rob had to leave early to take a big final exam for his paramedic class and then drive (MY car) to Michigan for a extended Thanksgiving holiday.  While I can accept the fact that he won't always be here for holidays, having my car taken away, too, is pretty depressing.  Richard and I are trying to put a positive spin on it, saying we're experimenting on sharing a car, but I'm not happy about it.

~~~Carless Coping Vibes for DR Ginny!!~~~
Isn't that a George Michael's song? "Carless Whisper"? "I'm never gonna drive again, guilty feet have got no pedals..."
I miss Whole Foods, not that I have ever lived near one.  We don't have a Trader Joe's either.
Also read the new Sal Mineo biography to read about his active love life including Mr Bobby Sherman and Mr Jay North.
Yes it's very good, and the story was related to the author by Miss Jill Haworth who was Mr Mineo's main squeeze at the time....or I guess I should say....until that time.
They were lovers in EXODUS weren't they?
I was about to post the same story/link!
I believe DR elmore may recognize a name or two in that story.
Hello-
In case anyone's interested and didn't already know, PBS is showing a salute to Stephen Sondheim tonight.
I believe it's his birthday concert which I reviewed a few weeks ago.
