How could you realize TCB when I didn't.;)  Now that I think of it I wonder why I never googled his name sooner.

I just googled myself and found out that I won the 2009 Wastewater Treatment Facility Award!  How cool is that?
Woosh! What news!

I have decided not to send cards this year as the activity will only hurt my shoulder.  I'll have to let people know.  I will send typed, not hand signed, letters back to a few people I don't regularly keep in touch with.
I agree with you, and I don't have your reason to use. That's just one Herculean task to avoid. E-cards are it.

I've almost finished the Kay Thompson bio; she becomes more of a selfish, egomaniacal, petty ass every chapter. I suspect I'll finish this tonight and need to pick up another book in Dayton for the plane.

DR elmore - There's an "Eloise" shop set up in the Shops at the Plaza Hotel - right next to the newish Plaza Food Hall by Todd English.  I saw the Kay Thompson bio displayed prominently on a table along with various "Eloise" books and plush dolls.  Alas, some of the little girls who picked up the bio, well... They could tell it was not a children's book either. ;)
Neither were the original, unexpurgated "Eloise" books. I remember getting ahold of one when I was a kid and asking Mom what a nymphomaniac was because it was in the book. I don't think I was allowed to finish it.

Thank you all for the vibes. I can only wish for the best. If I have to relocate, I feel that would not be in my favor. Still, I have hope.

Eloise was a nymphomaniac?  What's next, Little Bo Peep was a hermaphrodite?  :)

No. Someone staying in the hotel was and she overheard the conversation.

I might try to see Alice if she's up for it.  Don't know about the show, though.

Our very own FJL seems to be in the cheerleader department for Spiderman - even though most people reporting are not so happy.  Frankly, from everything I've seen and heard it sounds awful.  I'm really tired of Broadway trying to become the movie business.  Sixty million for a Broadway musical - disgusting, nonsensical, and everything that's wrong with Broadway today - note to producers and creators: Broadway is Broadway, not Hollywood.

I'm so sorry to hear about Leslie Nielsen.  :'(

Thanks to bk, I'm looking at Leslie's autograph on my wall.

This morning I sat in the courtyard at the San Buenaventura Mission with my coffee and croissant ( I believe it was built in 1782), then went into the church to listen to the service, standing room only so I could not stay long, but the church is very beautiful inside.

On the way back home I stopped at the Center for Spiritual Living on the corner where I live, I've always wanted to go inside (another historic landmark, this one a very Mayan Temple building) so I stayed for the service.   Very strange to be inside a Mayan Temple decor listening to a service about spirituality.  The two do not seem to mix.

I had a great time at SPIDER-MAN tonight.  It was nothing like I expected it to be.  Only the flying felt Vegas-ostentatious.

But then, i liked the ganganutuan LORD OF THE RINGS onstage, too.  :)

The framing device which weaves in and out fell like a lead balloon, and that's a big hairy deal, because if you don't buy the set-up, a lot of very expensive stuff is theatrical but may not work logically.

The "holds" that are being tweeted about due to the first preview were handled very well, i thought.   The extra-long intermission was greatly anticipated.  The only slight misjudgment was getting us back into our seats with too many minutes to spare.

Well, if you liked the Lord of the Rings thing, then this makes sense :)   But thanks for posting here, too - our dear readers are interested in all things musical theater.
