Chat room
« on: October 22, 2003, 03:30:26 PM »

I'm still unable to access the chat room (this has been true for months)

On my computer, I don't see the spaces to enter my name or anything.

And yes, I'm using the right address.

Seems I've somehow damaged my para chat abilities.

Take your time answering this, as I'm sure others have more pressing questions, like how to iron a French cuff.

Can you give me some information on the type of computer and browser you're using? In addition, you must have Java enabled to see and use the live chat feature. Other than that sort of troubleshooting I'd suggest you ask the folks at http://www.parachat.com/ what the heck is wrong with their product! :)

Thanks, Mark
My computer is a Compaq presario 5222, a pc that's 5 or 6 years old.  It runs Windows 98.  I connect to the internet through AOL.  Then I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 to get to Haines His Way.  When I first started coming here (in the spring), I could chat on this computer; everything worked fine.  Now whenever I go to the chat room, I don't see the usual blanks to fill in your name, but rather a big blank space with one of those odd something-should-be-here-but-isn't icons in the upper left corner.  You know the ones: a rectangle with three shapes within it.

Hm. Based on that, it seems to me that you don't have Java running. At least not properl).
