I have promised Anthony, Greg (our coordinator) and myself that I will not be quite so active. I don't want a repeat or something worse just before Christmas.

This one is even funnier!

The cat one is very funny, sound alone just painful.  It reminded me of why we stopped going to concerts by the local orchestra.

The first few years we lived here we enjoyed delicious pears from our own trees.  Bryan made pear brandy or something from them one year.  I miss those pears.

I wonder if Bryan made it to "school" today.  The hospital he is currently doing a rotation at is an hour drive from his apartment in Chicago and there isn't a train that goes there.  I worry about him driving his, my old, car in bad conditions.

I love AJL.

Aside from the usual suspects, I am VERY fond of "The Little Prince" (title song), "Closer and Closer" (sung by Gene Wilder in the film), and "Why is the Desert"?

Yeah, another Jew named Jesus or something like that made his own rules, too, and it didn't end well.  ;)

Thanks for watching that, JohnG

I found the extent of changes allowed by the Lerner estate surprising - but now we're hearing even the Gershwin estate is allowing rewrites on their work, too!

And as to the Michael Jackson estate!!!
I can sort of understand revisal like "Crazy for You" if no one is going to revival "Girl Crazy." And I can even understand trying to take a different approach on "On a Clear Day ..." since the original book is a mess. But does it have to be so obvious? I guess that's what I object to.

Getting some much-needed cleaning done this morning. Now, if only I could keep at it for a few more weeks, this place should be better.

But I've had distractions, such as the bird biting a hole into my ear drops for this infection. Needless to say, he's enjoying an extended time out. Guess he likes the place messy.

DR Jennifer - Is it really that big a deal that the producers of "TAR" showed some teams who may not be in "TAR 18" after all?  -And is the list that you posted actually the "final" list? Even you note that you're not 100% sure.

Well to me it was a big deal because they implied that certain favorites would be back.  I don't like when people show one thing and mean another . Even huge fans of the show were confused.

The list I posted is most likely correct. But I don't like to know spoilers about TAR. So i haven't really been reading comments about the season. But for the most part I think it's accurate.

DR Dan wrote last night re: the preview for TAR 18 (next season):

Quote
But I don't understand why the need to bring back four teams from this past season, particularly the Tattoo Couple and the Father/(annoying)Daughter team.  Also don't get the inclusion of the Goth team.  But I am looking forward to the return of the Cowboys!

I'm not sure if you saw my post from last night. But I wrote that I was annoyed that CBS showed a lot of teams that people like (or in your case hate) who are not going to be on TAR 18.  They made it seem like Brook and Claire would be on and showed them in the preview like 3 times!

I"m not 100% sure. But it seems like the cast for next season will be:
TAR 18- unfinished business
Kynt and Vyxsin
Amanda and Kris
Jaime and Cara
Kisha and Jen
Margie and Luke
Mel and Mike
Flight Time and Big Easy
Zev and Justin
Jet and Cord
Gary and Mallory
Michael and Kevin

Ah, that makes more sense then. I would have liked to see more Brook and Clair (the QVC women)

I would have loved to see them too. Although some people have said that Claire is pregnant now (Stephanie is for sure and married).

They are actually not from QVC or HSN. When they put them as "shopping hosts" I think most people assumed they worked on one of those channels.  When the season first aired I looked them up. And I believe they both used to work for the Gem channel in San Diego.

Back from my podiatrist appointment, which was productive but uneventful.  Richard and I went on to do some shopping and I'm OK to drive myself to tonight's AAUW meeting.  I will contribute 2 cinnamon pecan coffee cakes (made with yogurt instead of sour cream) to the annual talent auction and endure enjoy the entertainment by the high school chamber orchestra.

Afternoon all.

Back from a subdued day of work. I did things but Anthony moved boxes and helped a lot. Thanks to him for working so hard in my place.

I've shipped, I've eaten a sandwich and fries, I will soon jog, and I've answered a plethora of e-mails - additionally, a package that should have been here Saturday did not arrive today.  This was shipped Priority on Friday along with another package (two from the same person) - shipped from about six miles from me.  Package one arrived Saturday, so why didn't package two?  The USPS, that's why - thoroughly inept and disgusting.  Happily, it's insured and I've asked him to get me the tracking number so I can go be terse with someone.

I don't know whether to be flattered or angered by this new FF book, which appropriates my research by the forklift-full.  When does "fair use" become, um, "plagiarism"?  ;)

JR, did you catch his error on the Mysteries & Scandals episode?  He said it was Freeman's son, not Frank Farmer, who made the "speaking in tongues" quote.

Not to put the quash on BK's "True Love," but the 12 Days of Christmas start on December 25, they don't end there.  :)

I tried explaining that a couple of years ago, but no one read my post.

My winter visitor buddy arrived and we had our first day of birding for this season. One of the first birds we saw this morning was a bald eagle. Hard to top that.
