A friend of mine is trying to remember the name of a movie. Here is how she describes it:

"There was the craptastic horror movie from the 80s.  It was about monsters from the sea, coming to land for the human women.  Anyone have any ideas what movie that was????"

In June 1969, U.S. engineers diverted the flow of the Niagara River away from the American side of the falls for several months.

Why?

MISTER ROBERTS, good choice.  I could place it in second choice below MAD MISS MANTON.

It was a good pick if you could only watch one movie for the year.

He probably knows the entire cast intimately.

Topic of the Day:  umm...the popular ones? ::)

;)

Today has been a day of working and eating, so I really haven't had any time to think about the Topic of the Day.  At work, we had our annual Holiday Potluck today (I brought meatballs :D) and my new supervisor also retired today, so we partied and ate and I'm stuffed!  I won't eat again until tomorrow at lunch...leftovers!

I'm leaving right now for "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol" and it's the last weekend.  That's been a lot of fun.

So, I'm off!  Be back later!

Thanks for the vibes, guys!

I just walked in the door from a long, long day at the hospital.

Mum has been admitted, mostly for observation - Doppler and X-Rays showed nothing in the leg to be causing her pain and swelling.
This way, at least, she'll see her primary and her ortho and they'll decide what is best.

DR td - I'm glad your Mum doesn't have a blood clot and that she'll be seen by her doctors while she's in the hospital.  Now, take care of yourself!

Non-stop stuff today - I literally have not had two minutes to do anything this afternoon.  I listened to the partial master of one title, which blew me away.  I did the blurb, we got the titles to the printer, I've been burning CDs - and I had a weird thing with the Time Capsule/router, which suddenly began blinking amber - I called Time Warner but they weren't having any probs and I realized I was online and everything was working.  Had I really sat down and thought about it I probably would have remembered what Apple eventually figured out - it does this when there's a new upgrade version to do - and that's what it was - I did the update and all was well.

Wow, I would not be able to bake without a food processor. DR Ginny how do you do it with just a hand mixer?

I say you need a kitchen aid!  Maybe right before or after Christmas there will be some good deals!

Quote
Nightline just had a show about how being cold can make you lose weight.

Then I should be really skinny! ;)

I find that curious since I believe the body tends to add weight for the winter to keep you warm.  I know around October I had to fight extra cravings, something I never experienced living in So. California.

They are talking about literally being shivering cold.  They pointed out that people keep warm in the winter so they don't lose weight

Picked up the music, burning the last CD and then have to do three more for the ensemble gals.
