George, do you know what caused the break-up in the family?

George, do you know what caused the break-up in the family?

Not specifically...they think that it was probably because their father was a tyrant, but because Charlie didn't tell them, they're only guessing.

Laura, I think I have been seeing your incredible photos for so long that I have almost become blasé.  And I shouldn't, because your photos are all so wonderful.

I'm very annoyed with myself that I did not take my camera with me on my hike this morning.  I could have gotten some great photos of Sherlock.  Thanks to the frozen fog we have been having our world this morning looked like this tree.

Stilts always alert everyone at the pond when there is danger (which they consider people to be). When they see you, they start flying, and they call "Quit, quit, quit!"

I've been unearthing my desks and it's like an archaeological expedition.  In the notes that I took at a prospect research conference last May, I found one of the think-outside-the-box mental exercises:  "Write down 1 thing you're going to do before Sept. 30 that absolutely terrifies you."  Never in my wildest imaginings would I have written down "Have a heart attack."

LOL! I'll bet not!

I would still bet not. :)

It is a shame he never contacted his family again.  I'm sure they were all very hurt by it.

It seems like every grocery store and every other type of store that you go into these days, has those "customer cards" that they want you to use.  I think they are basically a scam, becasue what they do is allow the store to chart your likes and dislikes.  I am so sick of them, that I almost turned down the customer "Wellness Card" from RiteAid Pharmacy when they offered it to me  last year.  Well, today I got a letter from RiteAid saying that I had reached "silver" status with my card.  As a result eveything I buy at RiteAid, each and every day for the next year, they will automatically deduct 10% off the price.

Now that is what I call a customer card!

Just fill out a fake name, TCB. Or a fake address.

Then I would have missed out on this discount.  It applies to evrything including prescriptions.

DR George, your family story reminds me of the book I'm reading MISSING LUCILE, Suzanne Berne's memoir in which she attempts to get to know her grandmother who died when Suzanne's father was a child.  It really makes you think about what you don't know about your own family...

Thanks.  I need to get in there too.  Apparently, according to the comments, I said Sherlock is five when I meant four.  This month he will be four and a half to be more accurate. :)

January 5, 2011.  I just pulled off my shirt, and it looks like I may have my first outbreak of MRSA for the year.

G'night!
