Ginny it sounds like your trip is off to a good start. :)

It is, DR Jane!  We're about to go across the street for a Five Guys burger.  We'll be more adventuresome in the daylight!  Bye for now...

I think there were a lot of different looks in the 80s depending on where you were and what you were doing

Very true.

Threw together a dinner of cauliflower au gratin, cucumber salad and pork tenderloin, stuff I had on hand and needed to eat. Managed to read 40 more pages while waiting for dinner to cook. The end is in sight.

Pork is one of the four basic food groups. Heavy cream is another.

Bidding hasn't ended on this photo and it is already over $200.  :o

UPDATE:

This photo is at just $26.00

A similar photo of the same subject is now at over $311   :P

As for the Topic of the Day...

The two that pop into my head right now are:

-Salvatore Cascio in "Cinema Paradiso"
-Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense"

That would be that little broadcast coming up called The Super Bowl.

Just finished watching my review copy of LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST and now have an inexplicable urge to see PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. ;)

DR Ginny! - Welcome to Savannah! -Do you plan to eat - and wait in line - at The Lady & Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant) or Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room?

*And don't forget to visit the Savannah Candy Kitchen on River Street. ;)

I don't think that anything Paula Deen makes will be on Ginny's cardiac diet.

It's all too explicable. I felt the same way when I saw "Fanciulla" for the first time.

It reminds me of the "Forbidden Broadway" sketch where ALW is depicted as Mickey Mouse and the announcement comes that Puccini's back from the grave and he's "really pissed!"

In other news...

A friend-of-a-friend contacted me this morning via Twitter and email asking if I was back in town this weekend. He's helping out with a "Broadway Intensive" program, and, unfortunately, due to a family emergency, their pianist had to drop out last night. So...

I played a couple of hours today, and I'll be filling in tomorrow and Monday too.  Most of the participants are pre-teen and teenage girls, but there are a couple of boys and young men in the mix too.  In other words, I'll be getting reacquainted with the "Greatest Hits" from Annie, Oliver!, Mary Poppins and Billy Elliot.  -There are supposed to be some adults enrolled in the program, but I didn't see or hear any of them today.

DR Jose - we saw the line outside Paula's tonight - might try for the buffet tomorrow.  For our anniversary dinner (Monday), we're considering a river dinner cruise or Elizabeth's on 37th or The Olde Pink House.  We're going to church on Hilton Head Island tomorrow and may spend the day there.
