When we were about to go down for our last run, some other stupid people went on our course and just stood there. I asked the guy supervising at the top if he could motion to the guy at the bottom. Not sure why that guy did not notice these people.  But I always wait till the course is completely clear before i go. Cause our sled is really fast.

I have to put my feet out the side with my boot face down to slow it down!

Then we had taffy on the snow again. Then i had to pull my niece back to the parking lot. My back will probably hurt tomorrow!

And boy it is hard to get up the hill!

Der Brucer I was thinking of sending you an email if you didn't post soon.  How is your household doing?

Don't worry, DR Laura has been nagging checking up on me.

Woody and the canine tribe are doing fine and I'm having a dickens of a time trying to work out my peripheral neuropathy problems.

I've been to a neurologist and had MRIs, X-Rays, Sonograms, gallons of blood tests, weeks of physical therapy (three times a weeks). Next on the agenda is a trip to an endocrinologist to investigate potentail thyroid problems (marginal blood work and two tiny nodules showed up on a sonogram).

Seems like an awful lot of trouble for a medical condition whose most delibilating effects are my inability to stand and chat at a cocktail party or to do ironing standing up. Fortunately Medicare coupled with my Medigap insurance makes all these endeaors cost free to me (Sorry, fellow taxpayers).

We have tried using Anhodyne therapy - after two treatments I noticed a measurabale improvement in my ability to "sense' my feet. (This came as  some surprise because the treatments are not generally considered effective by the medical community.)

Rehoboth is so small and insignificant that Mother Nature virtually passed us by with all the recent snow storms.

I have never had butter on my pancakes.

It's better than Catsup, Mustard, or Mayonaise.

I'm glad a lot of trouble is being done on your behalf to figure out the problem.

MEGA VIBES THE TREATMENTS CONTINUE TO IMPROVE YOUR "SENSE" OF YOUR FEET!!!!

I'm pleased Woody (say hello from me) and the tribe are doing well.

I only like potato pancakes.

The other kind just soak up syrup and give you a sugar rush.  Not good.  Except for kids.

I was actually contemplating going over to the Hollywood Show until I saw the rather lackluster list and the fact that there were only TEN confirmed dealers.

Don't you want Robert Blake's autograph?

I have three books to pick up at the library.  I think I will take a walk in the park while I'm in town & leave Sherlock home since he isn't permitted inside the park.

If you use honey in place of syrup, you can get a similar sweeting effect without having the cakes absorb a lot of sweet.

I often skip syrup and add a good slathering of fine fruit preserves.

Stuffed up, congested, but feeling a little better this day.

Your physical symptoms may well have interfered with your sense of taste and helped ruin your breakfast.

der Brucer

Note: with real maple syrup now costing upwards of $100/gallon few restaurants any longer offer the real thing - and the substitutes are definitely inferior.

Words of wisdom Woody leaned from Alton Browns's latest cook book:

More people get salmonella from iguanas than from eggs.

Well, Tums certainly helped me survive the chili cook-off.

Did you discover any interesting variations on the dish?

Unfortunately, no. Thankfully, I did not have to judge. There were 29 entries, varying from burnt to pasta sauce, according to one of the judges. I was fairly lucky in the two or three I tasted. No odd ingredients like corn or mushrooms. No beans (this is Texas, where beans are heresy, though many with beans were served up). No mystery meats (just beef and pork, from what I could tell).

I thought of you the other day when a local columnist was discussing the ways and whyfores of cooking muskrat.
