I brought a program from "Parallel Lives" (co-written by Kathy Najimy) that I saw the night before and the booklet for the London cast recording of Sister Act to see if I could have them sent backstage for her autograph.  I didn't get to meet her (nor did I expect to) and I also didn't get her autograph.  She didn't sign any and she didn't come out to the lobby after the show.  Our house manager did ask Kathy's manager and he said that if they take my stuff with them, she'll sign them later and send them back to me.  I thought...why not?  So, unless something goes horribly wrong, I'll eventually get my stuff back with Kathy's autograph.

George, isn't she in Seattle for the next two nights?

I saw a sneak preview of GAILY, GAILY while I was still working in radio.  I remember going to the theater, but I don't remember one thing about the movie,

Thanks to DR TCB for his very kind comments.

I trUly did enjoy it Jack.  I was a little nervous after seeing the pre-show appearance of "The Mayor."  That seemed very strange, but the show was fine.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.  We had quite the "do" here last night, which I'll post about later, so we're still recovering!

I've been traveling a lot lately: Athens, GA Friday fir the B-52's 34th anniversary concert, Blue Ridge to stay with my dad SAt. and back to Athens on Sunday to show our film at the Athens Jewish Film Festival. It was a SRO crowd, lots of friends form my college days, and fun to show my film at my alma mater. A reception followed: hot dogs, cracker jacks, bagels, rugelach...lowwed by He-brew beer. So much fun!

I'm going back for closing night---live klezmer music! Can't wait!

Woke up to printer not working, which I assume has something to do with turning the Time Capsule off - I'll turn that on now and see what's what.

Last night's Amazing Race was lots of fun...many of the teams were my favorites during their previous seasons...I think there are only 3 teams that I am not wild about.

I found this week that my DVR, on it's own, decided to stop recording some of my shows...SOUTHLAND, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, and a couple of others. I had to reprogram the machine to record them all. Don't know why this happened, but it is not the first time.

I didn't notice at first, I just figured each show was doing reruns...but after several weeks I decided to check, and oh my gosh, I was missing new episodes!

I decided against continuining DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, as I hadn't really missed it at all.

I may also give up SOUTHLAND....I think it is a wonderful show, but since the FCC or whoever is in charge of such things, loosened the rules on swear words this year, SOUTHLAND is now "blah, blah, blah, sh*t, blah, blah, sh*t, blah, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t."

It get's tiring.

The F word is used a LOT as well, even though it is bleeped out. That is also tiring.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

DR JRand - so, you're getting a graduate degree in geriatrics, too?

;D  As well as dealing with family at the same time-fun isn't it. ;)

I'm celebrating Pepsodent Day by working...

But at least I don't have it as bad as my sister who works as an assistant broker for Wells Fargo.  Her office is closed because the stock market is not open today.  But because Wells Fargo banks are open, the broker office employees are required to take a vacation day today as their time off.  My sister and a couple of co-workers are looking into the legality of this incredibly stupid rule.

I'm surprised the banks are open.  I wanted to go to our local library today and it is closed.

I didn't think I needed to comment on the strangeness of taking a vacation day when the office is closed.
