DR Ben - take it easy today!  I'm glad you returned to an empty desk and a light workload.

Hmmm, I went back to bed for a couple of hours.  Didn't sleep great, but the rest was nice.

My sister and I saw Miss Faye Dunaway do MASTER CLASS on tour.  The entire audience was held in the lobby and then in the interior BEFORE we got to go into the theatre.  We were finally allowed in five minutes before the scheduled curtain time of 8 p.m.

The curtains were  already open and we saw a nice room with a grand piano.  Two large doors were closed USC.

Time passed.  Nothing was said.....time passed.....  By 8:30 people were beginning to leave, and there was some rhythmic clapping here and there.  The ushers all claimed to know NOTHING.

At 8:45, a man came out and sat at the piano.  He looked at us, and we looked at him.  He shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes.....and started to rearrange the music.

Then suddenly the doors opened and in came Faye Dunaway.  She was greeted with some recognition applause.

Then she started the play.  We were sitting in the third row.....and as part of the MASTER CLASS, Miss Dunaway was taking us all to task.  It was some funny stuff, and she was landing all the laughs.  Then she suddenly looked right at me and said: "What are you laughing at?  You don't have any personality either!"  I just shrugged.  That is the only time I have appeared with Miss Dunaway.

She was excellent in the play - I must say - and she looked beautiful.  And she received a standing ovation at the end of the evening, which came close to midnight.

The next day on the news - she said that the delay was caused by lighting problems and spotlight checks.....however in the 45 minutes we sat in our seats, not ONE light cue was changed....no spot lights or projections were to be seen.

When I talked to an usher as we were leaving - well.....it seems that the play had been in Cincinnati the week before and Miss Dunaway had fired both her makeup person and her hairdresser - and forgot to engage new ones in Indianapolis.

It was a lovely evening nevertheless......

I wonder if getting fired by Faye Dunaway is as liberating as getting laid off from the newspaper was for me.

Well, I'm not sure if the chiro will help me this time, but he always has in the past.  A couple visits and my headaches went away, etc.  We;'ll see what he says today.

Thanks for the vibes.  I'll let you know what happens.  In the mean time I need to get lunch and do some depositions.

Headaches can be related to neck problems.  I'm not sure how the chiro can even diagnose your shoulder problem.  Just don't let anything be done you don't feel comfortable with.

edisaurus, I did not like the faux pastrami at the Hat - I found it barely better than what they serve at Togo's - real pastrami can be found best at Langer's and Nate 'n' Al's and even Brent's.

I'm sleepy, tired and cold this morning.  It had been lightly snowing until a little bit ago.  I checked the weather forecast & it looks like I won't be going out tomorrow night to see Jews & Baseball.  I'm very happy there is a DVD.  After all my wishes it would play here & I can't risk not getting home if I go.

My copy of Gone With The Wind just arrived, and it's ripped and in my iPod... I can't wait to hear it! Bruce, thanks so much for all of these amazing, hard-to-find cast albums.

Oh, yeah--we had snow this morning.  Just enough to be an annoyance but also enough to make this morning's train ride along the river a visual pleasure.

They have been warining us about possible  snow starting tomorrow, but mostly to the North of Tacoma.  However, they are saying  that all of Western Washington should prepare for record-setting cold temps by the end of the week.

I am hoping that the previous low temperature was 65 degrees, butI am not counting on it.

I have a photographer coming this morning to duplicate the photo that was used in the recent Austin American-Statesman article.

I want to use it on the back cover of my next book.

I tried to buy the rights to the original from the newspaper, but they were asking a "fortune".
They have to make money somehow, and since they aren't making it off newspaper sales ...

I agree, but if I don't buy the photo, who will?

BTW: The photographer just left and we got the exact shot.

DR TCB I have a phone number to call about getting the mints.  I find it interesting the person who responded to my email is in Tacoma and yet you couldn't get any mints.  I'll call when I return home from my hike.

DR Edi - condolences to your friend...

Speaking of Randy Newman, he was here in Middletown in concert this past Saturday.  If we hadn't been so involved with family stuff and houseguests, Richard and I would have gone to see him.  Ah, well.

I saw he was going to be there and wondered if you would go!
