Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I somehow managed to sleep through my alarms, but I'm NOT running late... Although, in about two minutes, I will be, so...

WOW! A total unexpected TOD for a Wednesday. I can't remember the last time we veered from the "Ask BK" Wednesday roundup.

Good morning, all! I have about 45 minutes before I leave fro the NYU Dental Clinic, so let's have another cup of coffee!

After the clinic, I will drag my butt to Toyland and continue with the final Act One edits.

That's my day.

TOD:
   Piano: Arthur Rubinstein, Robert Casadesus
   Violin: Yehudi Menuhin
   Cello: Yo-Yo Ma

And the word of the day is: LEBENSRAUM!

I want the Lebensraum on rye with onions and Thousand Island dressing and a side of fries.

FYI, for anyone who might be interested, or just haning around the magazine rack at Borders, my interview with the lovely actress Jewell Lain is in the March issue of CLASSIC IMAGES.

Jewell appeared in TONS of television in the 50s an 60s as well as radio work in NY and starring roles in the films CRASH LANDING (1958) and SUICIDE BATTALION (1958)

Here she is with co-star Roger Smith in the disaster flick CRASH LANDING.

TOD:  I'm a sucker for violins, and two of the best out there are Joshua Bell and Elmar Oliveira.

For piano, Jon Kimura Parker tickles my ivory sensibilities.

I have spent the morning making a recording so that my brother can set the guitar chords for my song that I will be singing with the Family Band next week....

No sheet music is available - I bought the 45 rpm records 45 years ago for ten cents.....both sides are gems.....but I will be singing "Treasures With the Trash" originally sung and written by Jenny Clay.

I, too, can't remember the TOD shifting on a Wednesday but I'm a hip, 1970s kind of guy. I can go with changes.

TOD: I've seen Itzhak Perlman perform several times and conduct once, so I guess he qualifies. But I don't think that I have any recordings because of the performer, except for Gould's Goldberg Variations.

I know, I've been a stranger and I've been meaning to get on this here site for days to say thanks for the good vibes and concern for my broken wrist. Even with me being a stranger, many of you HHWers tracked me down through Cason's facebook page and got the vibes to me. You folks are just the greatest -- so sweet and caring.  Thanks!

And  here, I thought no year could top 2010 (lots of reasons why I've been a stranger) for nuttiness, and then 2011 comes along. Despite my wrist, a broken boiler in the theatre (2 weeks no heat!) but fixed in time for opening night, snow storms, etc., Inherit opened to great reviews, standing 0 each night for the first 4, now final four performances this weekend -- then we're done (Cason and I co-directed). I'll try to get Case to post some photos of the set and cast in action.
