I think I am catching a cold.   I'm not surprised, it's been going around and I've been around a lot of people this past week

I took my two Sunday papers and went out for breakfast.  I'm now on the heating pad - I used my shoulder a lot more than I expected last night.

I"m up I tell you.  I got up at nine, decided to go back to bed and the minute my head hit the pillow (thankfully the pillow didn't hit my head back) I was asleep and I just got up.

Thank you, Nursie! I'm sorry I'm so snarky about this whole thing.

I know how upsetting this is for you.

DR George I was curious what the cost of a ticket is in Oregon & looked it up.  I read it is $90.  Where does your friend live as I read the following:
Quote
In Washington, driving while using a cell phone is a secondary offense, meaning police can only ticket drivers for talking on their cell phones once they've pulled them over for speeding or another traffic violation.

Of course the cost could have gone up and the rules changed.

From Cilla:
Quote
I capped off the evening with a couple drinks with friends at the bar at the theater.  What a satisfying evening.  It was even more satisfying because this almost didn't happen.  We did a lot of work to pull it off and we not only pulled it off, but it was the best ever.

Congratulations on your successes, and of all those involved!  I'm glad you had fun at the same time.

We had an interesting event at home last night.

My wife was cooking dinner, and all of a sudden, the toaster oven exploded.

 :o

Broken glass all over the place.

 :'(

Thankfully, nobody was nearby, but then we had to do the clean-up.

 :(

Afterward, we went out and and bought a new toaster oven.

What a fun Saturday night!

 ::)

A Word of Warning: Don't use aluminum foil when you're cooking in your microwave or toaster oven.

I'm glad you had a reason for the toaster oven to explode. :(

I hope your landlord is giving all the tenants a rent break for this delay.

DR JOHN G - microwaves are not compatible with birds?  I am not aware of this.  Details please.
Can be fatal to our fine-feathered friends.  So can cooking with nonstick cookware.

Seriously, how is cooking with non-stick cookware in a house fatal to birds outside the house?
Probably not. Too far away. but my bird is close. In fact, he's on my left hand as I type this.

I'm watching The Producers ---the musical version.   I know it didn't get good reviews, but it'still entertaining.  DR El more, I'm sure you must know most of the Broadway performers who do cameos.

Yikes!  Just glad to hear that you both are alright.  I know how scary that must have been.  I'll never forget when that champagne bottle burst in my hand.  Glass everywhere then too.

Tonight on PBS (at least here) is the 25th Anniversary LES MIS concert!
I'm watching it now.  I'm sorry but it's horrible.  Dream cast?  It's more like a nightmare.  They are screaming the parts, no emotion at all.  Sounds like they're singing it by rote and I've even heard some flat notes.

Congrats to DR CILLA LIZ on the success of the Film Festival......sounds like so much fun - in spite of the BUTT.  There always has to be one in every group - I wish Karma would change this rule.

Ditto!

Dinah Shore, Barbra Streisand, Georgia Brown and more perform "The Brother of Man." Fun clip from the early 60s.

Abby has lived in the kitchen for about five years.....doesn't seem to be suffering.....oh dear.
"Can" isn't the same as "will." We used to feed our dog chocolate treats all the time when I was growing up and it had no effect on him. He lived 17 years. Now I hear it's poisonous to dogs.

Not all dogs get sick or die from it, enough that it is a no no.  You were very lucky.
