Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from Lima after a poorly-attended service, a home visit to one of our elderly couples, lunch at Culver's in Sidney, and grocery shopping. I think I need a nap...

We weren't surprised, DR Jane, when we got up there and saw how icy the roads and parking lots and sidewalks were. Also, we have services both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week...

Back from my pal Taylor's new store opening - it's called Creature Features. He used to have it in Burbank, but gave that up and has now finally opened a new one in Sierra Madre. Fun.

Now I'm baking some halibut just for the halibut and with it I'm sauteing some green beans and mushrooms. So, a nice calorie-friendly meal.

DR Vixmom - we stop at Panera every Sunday morning on our way into Lima and get a large whole grain miche and a bagel to share. That half bagel keeps my stomach from growling during church and the loaf of bread makes great toast here at home!

I loved Panera's harvest chicken salad - he was full of dried cherries and pieces of pear and pecans and blue cheese -- it was delicious --- so of course they discontinued it

I have mentioned before that the Artistic Director of one of our theaters is suffering from Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. They have basically told him that there is nothing else to be done. He just finished directing MY NAME IS ASHER LEV, which has been his great desire. Today his wife, who is a Cilty Councilwoman in Tacoma posted the latest update on Marcus. It is too long for me to post here, but if you go to my web page at Facebook, I have shared it. Very touching.

"Can" isn't the same as "will." We used to feed our dog chocolate treats all the time when I was growing up and it had no effect on him. He lived 17 years. Now I hear it's poisonous to dogs.

Not all dogs get sick or die from it, enough that it is a no no. You were very lucky.

And we used to leave the turkey on the carcass and the extra stuffing inside. We didn't die, but it is a no-no today.
