Friday morning greetings!  I've been over on Facebook, where my cousin in Japan has posted that he and his family are OK.  They live near Nagoya, which is pretty far from the quake and they're not in the path of the tsunami.  Sure puts my annoyance with last night's snowfall into perspective.

This past Monday, I was playing auditions for the Tokyo Disneyland Resort and Disney Sea...

I really hope that all of the current Cast Members and their families have been able to communicate with each other. -At least I know that my friends who work in the casting and production office in Tokyo are currently in Orlando continuing their audition tour.

Who do we have who might be affected? Matthew, Ron Pulliam? Sam? Anyone else?

I haven't, but I guess now is as good a time as ever...

I was asked to come aboard Arena Stage's remount of Oklahoma! as the Assistant Conductor/Keyboard Player.  I start rehearsals back down in DC in June, the show opens in July, and it will run through October. And I will finally be making my long-delayed conducting debut in DC.

And that's my news. ;)

And in other news...

I had mentioned it in passing a few weeks, but my landlord did indeed to sell the building. So... Long story short, I've been spending the past week packing up and cleaning my apartment. Most of my stuff will be going into storage, but I will be moving into a friend's place - he just booked a tour and needed a subletter , so...

And since two of my current apartment-mates were already moving out, and since it was proving very difficult to find new roommates, well...

It really seems that everything is falling into place, happening for a reason.

Oh... And some other good news...

My friend, Andy, surprised me with tickets to the Kennedy Center production of Follies. He really wanted to see the show, but hates going alone. And since he knew I loved Sondheim, well... :)

When are you seeing Follies? I'll be there for the May 7th performance. Will you be on board for the possible transfer of Oklahoma to Broadway?

Oh, and by the way, CONGRATS!

Oh My Gosh!

Yes, I'll be at the Kennedy Center on May 7 too! First performance/preview!

As for the possible transfer, well... Once that's more than a possibility...

And Thank You.

And I'm sort of surprised that Follies at the Kennedy Center has not sold out yet. There are still a lot of tickets left for the run.

That's great news about Oklahoma!, Jose! Sorry about the need to pack up and move again. I haven't moved in 30 years. I'm not sure I would be up to it.

And now I need to get ready to attend a workshop of a musical that I played auditions for a couple of weeks ago.

Laters...

Well, I've been quite lucky. I moved into this place six years ago. Most people when they move to NYC usually average an apartment a year for their first few years here. ;)

DR Jane, chlorine must be bad for nails because mine too never look good after I've swam. :(

Our pool is mostly saline which I doubt is good either.  There is more chlorine in the whirlpool and the rushing water must make it worst.  Went I went to remove the polish there was hardly any on my right hand and I had to work hard to get the polish off the left one.  At least I'm half right about putting polish on before swimming.

Are you only subletting the new apartment until June?

They were supposed to be here at 7 a.m. But they called at 6:58 to reschedule to 10 a.m. It is now 10:45.

We have remodeled so many homes.  The absolute most annoying time for workers to be late, IMHO, is early in the morning.

Years ago, after a quake in Alaska, the Oregon coast was hit by a tsunami.  There are still warning signs in towns along the coast.  The sign in Bandon basically says to run really fast.
