Jose - Congrats, and in your honor, an EVERYTHING'S UP TO DATE AT THE ARENA regional parody replay from last November:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIMKGkAaRM

Thank You, Fred!

And I believe EVERYTHING'S UP TO DATE AT THE ARENA deserves a ReTweet! :)

Spent a couple of hours making room in my closet for the 10 new items I bought this week.  In addition to removing all the baggie britches, I found some things that I can wear again, after many, many years  ;D

That is always a wonderful feeling.

I'm trying to think of which musicals to show my niece (or let her listen to).

My Grandlads loved Frog and Toad:

...and it's grand fun for adults as well.

Hello, DR Der Brucer!

-And Frog and Toad is a good show and a good listen.

Jose. you'll likely be at the Arena early enough to see A TIME TO KILL - I'm still trying to decide if I'll fly out to see it or not.

Alas, A Time To Kill closes right before I go into rehearsal. However, I do have to go down to DC for some pre-production work, so, hopefully, I can catch it then.

Did you announce your new yet, Jose?

I haven't, but I guess now is as good a time as ever...

I was asked to come aboard Arena Stage's remount of Oklahoma! as the Assistant Conductor/Keyboard Player.  I start rehearsals back down in DC in June, the show opens in July, and it will run through October. And I will finally be making my long-delayed conducting debut in DC.

And that's my news. ;)

Congratulations, Jose!!  And a possible Broadway transfer??  THAT'S WONDERFUL!! ;D

Thank You, DR George.

And in other news...

I had mentioned it in passing a few weeks, but my landlord did indeed to sell the building. So... Long story short, I've been spending the past week packing up and cleaning my apartment. Most of my stuff will be going into storage, but I will be moving into a friend's place - he just booked a tour and needed a subletter , so...

And since two of my current apartment-mates were already moving out, and since it was proving very difficult to find new roommates, well...

It really seems that everything is falling into place, happening for a reason.

~~~Vibes for a Successful and Stress-Free Domicile Transition!!~~~
So far, so good.
I was a bit overwhelmed at first, but once I realized that the only furniture I have is my bed frame and my dresser, that made me breathe a huge sigh of relief. The couch, the kitchen table and chairs, the shelves, etc., were all here before I moved in. Thankfully, I was able to arrange a pick-up/donation with Housing Works.
This past Monday, I was playing auditions for the Tokyo Disneyland Resort and Disney Sea...
I really hope that all of the current Cast Members and their families have been able to communicate with each other. -At least I know that my friends who work in the casting and production office in Tokyo are currently in Orlando continuing their audition tour.
My goddaughter Charlotte was one of the auditioners.
Oh! I thought that might have been her!
*As for Tokyo Disneyland... Apparently, they had 70,000 people in the Parks when the earthquake hit yesterday, and parts of Disney Sea were flooded. Thankfully, there have been no reports of any injuries in the Parks, but since the roads and mass transit systems were shut down, many people ended up spending the night in the Parks.
I also realized that the new cast just started over there two weeks ago. I can't imagine starting a new job in a new place - a new country! - and having something like that happen.
Weren't almost all the FOLLIES center weekend seats in first 15 rows moved up to $150 or something like that (or maybe it came to $150 per seat with the service charge)?  I'd heard from the box office phone person they'd put in some kind of pricing based on demand or something like that?
The pricing for tickets at the Kennedy Center has been running higher than Broadway for a few seasons now. -Just like when I was in Los Angeles for What If? and the prices at The Pantages for Hairspray topped out at $140 - and that was for the regular-priced center orchestra seats.
I'm wondering if the Kennedy Center went ahead and re-alloted the number of seats at each price point. ???
Gosh - at those prices I am afraid I do not foresee many Kennedy Center viewings in my future   :(
My next research paper can be anything of my choice. I'd like to do something related to musicals just to have some fun. Any ideas?
This is something that a friend of mine were wondering about: Why is there no "Sleeping Beauty" musical? -Is it because the main character spends most of the time asleep? ;)
According to the Kennedy Center web site, the tickets for Follies run from $45-150, depending on the day of the week and section you'd like to sit.
*I actually just looked at a couple of dates, and it looks like most of the weekends are almost completely sold out. Weekday availability, however, is a different story.
Are Jeanne, BK, RLP, Mike Barnum, JMK, TCB, Jed & Ann, in any danger of Tsunami related disasters?
VIBES for one and all
Checking the news DR Sam seems to have high waves.  I expect she is at work and I don't know how close to the ocean she is.
DR's JMK & MBarnum should be fine, as should Bruce.  It would have to be an extremely big tsunami to reach DR Jeanne and that isn't expected.
My guess, DR Ron is far enough inland.
As for DRs George, TCB, Ann & Jed my personal belief is they will be fine.  TCB is close to the water but I can't find anything that says his area had to evacuate.  I'll search a bit more for news.
Thanks, DR Jane, for keeping tabs on everyone. -And it does look like every DR was out of harm's way today.
