It's going to cost around $12,000 to copy new scores and orchestra parts for Act One of Victor Herbert's 1917 operetta EILEEN. Now where the hell are those missing scores?
:o

MEGA SCORE FINDING VIBES!!!

I swear they're in this apartment, but I don't understand where they've gone.

I'm having the same problem finding my grandmother's watch.  :'(

did you look inside Yogi?

;)  He is good about not eating items he shouldn't eat, except food. :)

Did he possibly knock it off of a table or something?

In the meantime...

After a few more runs down to Housing Works, I met up with my friend, Yosh, for dinner at Ditch Plains on the UWS - which, in fact, is right down the street from DR elmore's abode.

This is one of Chef Marc Murphy's restaurants, and this location opened a few weeks ago. I met Chef Marc last year during a City Harvest benefit, and he and his Benchmarc team have been very "generous" ever since then.

Their dinner special dinner was a Beer Can Chicken served with Warm Potato Salad and Corn on the Cob. It was all quite yummilicious. And for dessert, we had a Strawberry Ditch'wich (ice cream sandwich) and their special S'Mores Cookies. And as an added treat, they  ended up comping our beers and desserts. :)

...But then once I realize the the stand-up closet, the dresser and the shelving are staying here, then it seems reasonable again.

was the apartment fully furnished when you moved in?

Yes, and No. Before I moved in, there were two previous tenants in my room. And over the past seven (or eight?) years - I've been here for six - there have been a couple of different roommates. Some of them have left various pieces of furniture from time to time. Thankfully, the handyman said he wanted some of the shelving, and he also said he would take care of some of the furniture that was here before I got here. Whew!

It's kind of a riff on a New England seafood shack, with some Southern comfort foods (deviled eggs, jalapeño-cheedar tater-tots, etc.) thrown in for good measure. Landmarc is the more formal restaurant in the "empire".

Good Evening!

I keep looking at all the stuff in my bedroom yet to be boxed up and it seems quite reasonable... and then it doesn't... and then it does... and then it doesn't... Ah, well...

packing vibes for Jose

when do you need to be out?

I need to be out by tomorrow night. -Although, it looks like I'll be staying here tomorrow night, and then vacating Wednesday morning.  -I'll be staying with a friend for the rest of the week, and then I'm going down to Virginia this weekend, and then I'm heading to Chicago next week for a sort of mini-vacation and some chamber music playing. I move into my temp digs on April 1.

I got an email from our producer for the Herbert recordings. The first edit is in for the 102 songs we recorded and the 5 discs should arive in the post in the next couple of days. She's divided them by Irish-themed,  occasional and jingoistic, classical art song, romantic, and low and high jinx. I can't wait to hear everything.

102 songs? 5 discs?

Is the plan to release everything all at once in a boxed set? or as individual discs?

vixmom - He actually was thanked in the acknowledgments in Mr. Ruhlman's book RATIO.

Plus he had a recipe in Jane Brody's GOOD SEAFOOD BOOK.

But this was a very nice mention today!

what is hamantaschen?

They are cookies that are traditionally made for Purim. However, they are sold year-round in some markets as "Bishop's Hats". -They are triangular-shaped cookies with a shortbread crust surrounding some sort of filling. The traditional fillings are poppy seed, prune and apricot.
