Depends on what kind of hawk it is. A kestrel (which is small) will eat grasshoppers and lizards and mice and smaller birds. I don't know about worms. Maybe if the worm was just sitting there it might.

Bigger hawks would go for rodents, other birds, etc. I once saw a Harris' Hawk try to take Tabby Tom, one of our feral cats that lives in the backyard. Tabby Tom swatted it away.

Thanks.  Something must have been in the bushes that we couldn't see.

My MIL came on our "honeymoon." And she came knocking on the motel door at about 10 p.m. with a snack for my DH.

Oy! I just got an apology for yesterday's email. No, I think I will not go back to this.

The one the person sent prior to your response?

I've mailed no response yet. I am doing it Friday when I've got my things out so I can ask what I should do about my keys.

I doubt I will go back. This is the lull before the next bout of madness. I don't think that leopard will be changing spots.

How long does the hacky cough last in this cold that's going around?

Mine lasted over five weeks.

I am in the apartment with two shopping bags of books. I also brought home Skip Kennon's BMI bag since I doubt he will be in the office before I turn in my keys this weekend.

elmore, did you send the rewritten e-mail?

No. It was just one more draft. I have to write a whole different one now. I must acknowledge the apology and be firm about how these ups and downs are sending me away from the job.

I'm flying off to Scottsdale today.

Not only will I be attending Festival of the West, but I will also get to meet DR Laura, face-to-face.

Lucky you! She's a wonderful lady.

Even though I've been on this website for a while, I sometimes momentarily forget that DR stands for Dear Reader,  so when I read that elmore thought Doctor Laura was a "wonderful lady" I was taken aback to say the least!

She may be a wonderful lady, but I will never let her operate on me.

Richard has had it for 4 weeks now.  It seems to be subsiding, but it's still there...

The invited dress rehearsal of WHERE'S CHARLEY? was quite wonderful tonight. When I was leaving City Center after the afternoon rehearsal, I ran smack into Jonathan Tunick, who was waiting for Red Press, the orchestra contractor. The two of them took me out to a lovely Italian dinner on West 55th Street. We were joined by Bill Elliot who's orchestrating the new ANYTHING GOES at the Roundabout. It was a wonderful gathering, and then Bill went back to the Porter show and Red, Jonathan, and I went to WHERE'S CHARLEY?

After the performance I rode uptown in a taxi with Jonathan, who's off to London to conduct a recording he's arranged for a singer named Kate Bush.

I will not be going to Scottsdale.

It's a long sad story, and I really don't feel like telling it now.

We received word yesterday that my aunt is being relocated to a skilled nursing unit at the retirement community.  This is a permanent move, so my Georgia cousin will be here next week to clear out the patio home she's lived in since 2005.

Richard's MacBook was admitted to the computer hospital to receive a new hard drive.  He's back to using the desktop on the dining room table.
