Nevermind.  Morehead state lost.   I can always cheer for Kansas.  I went to school there for a couple years

I cheer for every team who plays against Duke.   I may even watch Michigan play Duke...what time?

How disappointing!  I found an article on the "Ten Weirdest Things in Ausitn"; and John G. was not on the list.

Good Evening!

Well... The full week of moving finally took it's toll over the past 48 hours. Just plain exhausted - and a bit achy too.

There are several monarch caterpillars at the habitat. The monarch scientist has worked very hard to assure their survival this winter. She did good.

DR Laura, I have learned that  there is some sort of a  butterly zoo in Albany, Oregon. It is one big warehouse sized building full of assorted plants and many, many types of butterflies flitting about.

The supermoon was pretty. I wish I could have seen it when it was lower on the horizon. But when you are in town, you have to wait for it to get above the houses.

No. But my grand neice and nephew have. Their mom's parents take them there each spring.

So far no one at the YMCA has asked to share my shower yet. But there is still hope.

The botanical garden here has a tent in the spring and fall. It's not huge, but there are lots of butterflies. It is open for a few weeks in the spring and fall.

Little Ricky waits outside my shower door every morning and when I turn off the water and open the door he runs into the shower.   Yes, this is the cat who had panic attacks going into the bathroom. He also drinks out of the bathtub faucet now

Well, lots of excitment in front on the apartment building tonight.

I heard a dog barking and someone yelling at someone else to put there hands "Out to your side!" over and over again. I looked out the window to find about 5 police cars down below, then another 5 or 6 zoomed in from down the street and joined them.

I saw them take a handcuffed man and put him into a police care. Then they brought over a bicycle and put that in the trunk. That was 1/2 hour ago. About 5 police cars (with lights flashing) are still outside, but have no idea what all the commotion was about.

Whatever happened, seems to have happened in the parking lot next to the Frances Apartments, which is next door to my apartment building.

In other news...

The staff at City Bakery tweeted me earlier in the week to tell me that Maury, the owner, had something special for me. Well, I finally stopped in yesterday, and THIS is what he had for me. :)

I started watching the Bollywood film LAMHAA, which is about political intrigue in Kashmir.

I have so far watched 99 minutes of the film, which has felt like 4 hours. I don't think I will finish watching it, even though I do really like some of the cast.

It was a Thank You for all my tweeting - a.k.a. free publicity - during their Hot Chocolate Festival. It was truly a surprise, and a very generous one at that - last year, all I got was a t-shirt. ;) And after all the "stuff" this week, I almost cried when I realized what he had given me.
