And as Friday the 13th winds down here on the East Coast...

Did anyone have any bad luck today?

Earlier tonight, I went to a concert by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. It was part of their "Spring for Music" series. It was a good concert, with some very interesting programming.

You can read about the concert as well as listen to it HERE.

Back from a fun dinner at Islands, where I had my usual bacon cheeseburger which, instead of being called the Big Wave with bacon and cheese, is now called the Malibu.  I had fries, as well.  Then we went to the thirteen-year-old's apartment - previous to dinner I'd figured out a first pass at a show sequence, so we sang through it in that order and I'll be hornswoggled if the damn thing didn't just work.  And boy is it a fun and VERY diverse show.  Patter still to come obviously, but that gets much easier when the structure of the show has been set.  Her grandma was visiting from Canada, and she had a good time listening.  Boswell hasn't finished writing out the charts for the songs that we did arrangements for, but we should have those soon.  Melody had made yummilicious brownies of which we all partook.  And then she put in some glow in the dark vampire fangs - that was pretty funny, actually.

Good Evening!

And as Friday the 13th winds down here on the East Coast...

Did anyone have any bad luck today?

Actually, yesterday my car started making a fluttering noise.  When I drove home last night, it was pretty loud, but otherwise ran well.  None of the dashboard lights lit up.  I checked my oil when I got home (I hadn't had it changed in quite a while ::)) and it was very, very low.  I decided that I should get the oil changed in the morning, but as I was driving I figured that the noise couldn't be related to low oil, so I stopped at a local automotive place.  They were able to look at my car right away and it turns out that a belt had split.  They had to get a belt from another store, but they had it all fixed in about an hour.  So, I actually had some good luck today. :)

Yesterday, I also (finally) made an appointment to have my car serviced at the dealer on Tuesday.  Even though my car isn't under warrenty any more, I still take it to the dealer because they've done all the work and know what needs to be done.  I get it serviced once a year, after I get my income tax refund.

Topic of the Day:

On my DVR:  two episodes of "Law & Order: Los Angeles."  It's too bad that they fired Skeet Ulrich, but I really like this show.

After that, I need to start watching "Fringe."  I have the last six, count 'em SIX episodes recorded and to watch.

Nice when the birthday folks don't show up to acknowledge their good wishes.

That's what being in "love" or being obsessed with Facebook does.  Frankly, I like it here -
