IF THE SHOE FITS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes wore the shoes because they fit, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - their currently trying to find some shoes to fit - in the meantime, they're wearing their MOOS.

I think Martin Scorsese should make a sequel to Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, entitled Pogue Doesn't Live Here Anymore.

I'm listening to the unedited version of our next release - it's quite rousing.

Good morning, all! When the alarm went off, I was having a peculiar dream in which I was working on a project that seemed to be in the same offices as a snooty advertising firm, with all the men in expensive suits. I remember that I ran a lot of workers out of my work space, telling my colleagues, "I'll get hell for doing that, I'll pay for that later." And thenm we were all gettng dressed in suits for a wedding or some event, and my friend Doug Reside from the NYPL had brought me a clean shirt, and Patty, my boss from Barnes & Noble, was there, along with the Philadelphia millionaire who produced the Herbert recordings. I remember having a conversation with him about a phone call I had made to him. I don't know what's going on in my subconscious, but it's quite colorful.

Today, back to another rehearsal at 10. After yesterday's, I am rather encouraged by the whole shebang, and I think the singers are quite good. I wish we actually ad a couple of older actresses like Cass Morgan or Deborah Monk to lend some gravitas to the whole shebang. We've got one wonderful singer who's leading the "West Virginia Mine Disaster" but she's not good at holding onyo the alto part when she's singing in the ensemble. Everyone plays an instrument, so I'm expecting it to get rowdy very shortly.

Our TOD was Woody Allen? MANHATTAN was the first film I saw when I moved to NYC, and I think it and HANNAH AND HER SISTERS are my favorites. I now think Mr Allen is an old shit and care very little for him or his behavior.

TOD: i like a lot of Woody Allen's movies, including "Purple Rose of Cairo," "Broadway Danny Rose" and "Shadows and Fog," but my favorite probably has to be "Radio Days." I'm looking forward to seeing "Midnight in Paris," too. That's the first time I've said that about Woody Allen movie in more than a decade.

Oh, yeah. I grew up with tornadoes. There was a big one in May of 1965 which we missed because we were back in Michigan for my grandfather's funeral. There is nothing like a tornado sky. When you see it you remember it. Also the stillness just before one hits and the energy in the air and the color of the sky are all distinctive.

My sister does have power again. It came back last night around 10pm. They have to throw out everything in the freezer and refrigerator. I assume they will get compensated (Con Ed did it for New Yorkers after the last big black out).

TOD:

LOVE AND DEATH
ANNIE HALL
RADIO DAYS
PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO
MANHATTAN
HANNAH AND HER SISTERS

Really, I love just about all of Allen's films up to HUSBANDS AND WIVES which fell flat for me.  In the twenty years since, his output has been spotty for me and there are a few films of his that I have not seen at all.

BK, does this LUNCH HOUR film have anything to do with the Bway play that Gilda Radner did in the 80's?  It was written by Jean Kerr.

I had forgotten I saw that! It wasn't very good and I love Jean Kerr. Wasn't Sam Waterston in it as well?

These recent tornado events have been terrible in the amount of loss of life and devastation.  In all my life, I don't recall this much happening this often.  At worse, you would hear about a neighborhood being wiped out but this Spring we've had almost entire towns being destroyed.  What is going on with the weather?
