Well, you've read the notes, the notes had coming attractions, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently watching some coming attractions and they don't want to see any of the MOOvies at all.

Morning all.

In spite of rising late this morning I'm the first after Bruce.

That is all.

You'd think it was a holiday or something.

Remember Bruce, no mail delivery today. Your mail place may be open but they won't be getting anything from the U.S. Postal Service.

Oatmeal (before it gets too hot, it's supposed to be 90 degrees and humid today and tomorrow) with dried Bing cherries (courtesy of Trader Joe's), walnuts and cinnamon and a cup of coffee.

Back to the office tomorrow.

Memorial Day greetings!  Looks like a hot, sunny day for the commemorative festivities here.  Richard is off with the Honor Guard and I'll watch the ceremony from Arlington on C-Span at 11am.

Yes, it's been quiet and serene. We had a rain storm about 6:30am and now the heat is creeping in. We may have to turn on the AC this evening to sleep.

I've been riding the exercise bike regularly for two weeks now and that makes it a bit hotter but I need to do it. 58 steps up and down (from the apartment to the street) just isn't enough exercise and I don't have a basement for walking.

Good morning, all! I slept late, had strange dreams, none of which remotely come to mind, and now I am ready to spend the day with Mr Victor Herbert's Irish comic opera EILEEN.

Last night I watched three episodes of PILLARS OF EARTH and tonight I shall finish off the last two. My biggest question for Mr Follett is why he changed Queen Matilda's name to Maud. I'm also amazed at the passage of time and how some characters never seem to age in this series. I'm hanging on to learn whether or not some of the truly despicable characters get what's coming to them.

More coffee, and to work

DR George, CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND was a wonderful biography, but I like everything I've read by Isherwood. If you've never read THE BERLIN STORIES, "Mr Norris Changes Trains" and "Goodbye to Berlin," you should. When I was in high school, I began reading the literary sources of my favorite and not so favorite musicals. I've never read Seven and a Half Cents, but I've read the sequel about making the musical, Say, Darling. I remember the following:
    Tenderloin
    Candide
    Prettybelle
    The Sisters Liked Them Handsome
    The Once and Future King
    The Happy Time
    Meet Me In St Louis
    Flower Drum Song

There were more; my mind's thinking about Victor Herbert!

Good morning everyone.    8)

Strange to be home on a Monday.

Overcast and cold outside, the drapes are open and the heater (oven) is on.  I'll get a real heating unit for next winter.     Yesterday the weather was beautiful, warm but really really windy.

Went to the Rubicon Theatre yesterday for their Young Playwright's festival.   6 incredible plays, 3 in the afternoon and 3 in the evening.  3 more this afternoon.

Wonderful new talent.

Almost all professional actors.

Hosted by David Rambo.

Big news from Columbus is rocking the entire state this morning:

Ohio State's Tressel Resigns

Even though I remain a true blue Michigan fan, I find this sad for the OSU program.

Thanks to George, I have Ethel Merman singing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" on the DVD and, well, I think everything's going to be bright lights and lollipops today. For all of us.
