And...

I just found out that the Creative Arts Tony Awards have started now, BUT they will also be giving some out during the commercial breaks. -And then showing clips of the acceptance speeches during the broadcast. There's no streaming of those awards this year.

Didn't PBS televise these in the past?

I've been cleaning house and watching an ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS marathon on Logo. I have never seen any of these episodes before so I guess they're from the last season.

I think PBS only did it for two years - maybe just even one. Then they started making them available on the net. This year, no such luck. -And that seems like a LOT of editing-on-the-fly to do. -Remember one of the years that Audra McDonald won and the audio was out of sync?

I would ask everyone, "What was your favorite moment of any Tony's broadcast?"

Without a doubt, Brent Barrett (WSMA) and Michael Jeeter doing "We'll Take A Glass Together."

When you are ordering DVDs, what does "Collectible Lenticular Packaging" mean?

The first time I saw CAMELOT on stage was 1969 at The University of Michigan.  It was that year's MUSKET show - Morgan Le Fey was played by Gilda Radner, who according to the program was a senior "majoring in oral interpretation."  I went on one blind date with Sir Lionel.

Lenticular Packaging are those plastic(?) cards(?) that have ridges, and when you shift the angle they "move" the image or cause another one to show up.

I saw Camelot in Buffalo many years ago with Robert Goulet as King Arthur.    I thought that something was missing and after the show realized that they completely eliminated "You May Take Me to the Fair."

As for Camelot...

I can't seem to remember the first production I ever saw. If anything, I'm guessing it was a community theatre production. -And I've never made it all the way through the movie in one sitting.

As for songs cut from Camelot... Well... When we did it at Arena Stage, sadly, "Before I Gaze At You Again" ended up being cut. However, we did include the full "Persuasion", "Take Me To The Fair" and "The Jousts".

So... Apparently there's a new twist to "The Tony Award Drinking Game":

-Every time someone thanks God: do a shot.
-Every time someone thanks their same-sex partner: have a scoop of ice cream.
