So, this show is going to last, what, two-and-a-half hours?

Three.

Two hours and ten minutes without commercials. ;)

Ain't it the truth.

It does sound like the musical number choices this year are better than those in the past few years.  Also, I think being in a real theater is probably helpful, rather than the way too big Radio City Music Hall, where the show gets dwarfed, feels elephantine, and doesn't work at all.

Remember how Priscilla was being touted as the show to beat and was going to be the biggest thing NY had seen in years?  Hasn't quite panned out that way, has it?  Interesting.

When I think of the Beacon Theatre, I still remember how run down it was in 1979 when I went to the Golden Turkeys Movie Festival there: my first exposure to PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE.It looks amazing now.

I will now be off, take a shower, get dressed, figure something out to bring to the pot-luck and participate in an election.

Have a good day, all!

I'm home and have officially been elected as one of Theater Artists Olympia's five officers-at-large!

Congrats, George!

Thanks, Jeanne!

It's competition, I think, is LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. From what I've heard about it, it follows the film too closely.

Oh, I guess I could post the special Tony Awards that opened the non-broadcast portion.. No spoilers, however, since they were announced when the nominations were announced.
