TONY SEMI-SPOILER

I'm glad that Norbert Leo Butz got his Thank You into his sister. She was killed in a hate crime during their previews in Seattle, and the trial started last week.

I actually need to take a little breather myself right now to organize some stuff for my trip down to DC tomorrow afternoon. -As it turns out, I'm going to go ahead and head back up here next weekend for a quick 36-hour trip. I just don't feel like carting "My Life" down to Fairfax/DC in one trip.

It's just so funny to listen to the news.  How do you make a story out of I don't know, you don't know and we're all guessing.

I have mellowed a lot about it.   I want to go up to the dam sometime this week.  It's about an hour away and is an incredible sight on video

I thought that Neil Patrick Harris made the show. Love him.

I loved the opening number. But I was a little surprised. CBS. And at 8pm.  I think it was a little too mature for 8pm.

Until I just read DR Jose's post. I didn't realize that some of those awards were being presented at the commercials. Very odd. And terrible that they weren't recording them.

I loved Matthew Broderick in How To Succeed. I find Daniel Radcliffe looks about 15. I can't get over how short he looks compared to the cast.

I really liked what I saw of Book of Mormom. I wish though that they could have performed a group number. But I loved the song they did.

Okay, I'll be the lone voice of dissent and say I did not like the opening number - the entire number, including the audience stuff.  Too winky-winky for me and the choreography was Ashford-like - don't know if it's him or not.

Then Ellen Barkin's really annoying and endless preaching - say thank you get the HELL off.

Then Brotherhood of Man, yet more proof that Rob Ashford is as bad as it gets in terms of actually understanding the POINT of a number.  His choreography always reminds me of the 11th grade gym class exercises.  Awful.

And finally, there is a GREAT disparity between the cheering, wooing applause and ovations we're HEARING and between the mild applause that we're SEEING at the same time - which means the reaction is not only enhanced, it's positively canned - I don't remember exactly when they began the practice of adding shouting, applause, and laughs from the can, but it's very prevalent this evening.

Other than that, I'm enjoying the show.  And the people for whom the opening number was intended are not watching the show.

Actually, some of them were awarded during the longer commercial breaks. Only three of them were presented before the broadcast.

ARe you sure DR Jose wrote: "just found out that the Creative Arts Tony Awards have started now, BUT they will also be giving some out during the commercial breaks. -And then showing clips of the acceptance speeches during the broadcast. There's no streaming of those awards this year."

I thought he was referring to giving out some awards during the commercial breaks of the Tonys. Because during the Tonys they said a few times "this award was given out moments ago" and i couldn't understand what they meant (thinking that they had been taped earlier).

Anyhow regardless, stupid.
