I need to travel down to the 7-11 today to inform them that the weakeness of their wireless signal makes piggy-backing off of them quite difficult.

How many languages can you say that in?

I'm sorry for your loss, JRand. I hope Aunt Pauline's passing was peaceful.

THE LION KING tour opened last night in Dayton and my Mother was there along with a busload of residents of her retirement community.  If you watch the

VIDEO

attached to this story, you'll see her friend Dolores interviewed and talking about her friend who recommended the show.  That was my Mom!  The Otterbein bus is behind Dolores, who was attending her very first Broadway-type show.

Ginny, I pray that if it is her time, your aunt's passing will be peaceful.

Ibid.

My Aunt Pauline passed away yesterday morning at 10 a.m.  She was nearly 90 years old and had lived in a "facility" for more than 10 years.....and did not recognize anyone when they visited.  It is a sad, but necessary part of living.....this dying business.

I hope you have some lovely memories of your Aunt Pauline and that those will sustain any moments of sadness you may feel about her recent health and her passing.

Yes, me, too....and can you employ onomatopoeia while doing it?

Just read that the Academy of Moving Pictures has revised the rules for the Best Picture Oscar.  The number of movies nominated will now be five up to ten instead of a solid ten as it has been set for the past two years.  I guess the ten picture nominees thing didn't work out the way the movie studios thought it would...

I think EVERY category should have between 5 and 10 nominations.   There should be a cutoff number for a nomination based on averages of all years' past.  They can do that because the Academy keeps track of such things.   I know that the music branch works from a list of 10 to get a nomination for Best Original Score...and they could easily have 10 nominees.   However, if four of those 10 received only a handful of votes more than the ones below them, those four could be dropped and let the top 6 enter the final voting.

It could be interesting.

Yes it was peaceful.

Thanks DR's.....yes having memories is a lovely thing.

Aunt Pauline and Uncle Bill lived next door to us when I was between 1-3 years old.....I would always watch out the front screen door to see when she came out and headed to her car.....

When she did, I would run out across the yard calling her name.....and more times than not....she would say:  "Come on, Jackson....let's go...."  And we would drive all over town to do whatever she needed to do, and then stop at the Rexall Drug Store for ice cream or Coke....

Page Three Aunt Pauline Dance.....she is on the left.  My Aunt Ruby, her sister, is on the right.  Both could play a mean guitar and sing like anything.

Aunt Ruby had two daughters, Lana and Lita.....Lana was killed by her husband many years ago, Lita and I do a lot of theatre together at PCPH.

Aunt Pauline had one son, my cousin Willie, who is a fine man....    :'(

Thanks DR ELMORE.....this one is from the 1990's....five of the "kids" - my father is in the back with Aunt Ruby, Uncle Jim, Aunt Edna, and Aunt Pauline are sitting in front.

Uncle Jim had a twin brother named George.  They worked cutting down trees when they were teens.  One day a tree fell the wrong way and was going to hit Jim.  George pushed him out of the way and the tree fell on George, killing him.   :'(

Very nice stories, JRand. Well, except the parts about Uncle George and Cousin Lana. Is Cousin Lana's husband in jail?

I could wash my car today. We'll be safe from having any rain, oh, probably until August.

Yeah, but sometimes I'll see a group of kids doing a car wash and figure what the hay--I dont have an antenna they could bust off.  I let them soap up the car and then kind of rinse it off and give them a $20 for their work.  Then I'll go to a real car wash to really get the thing clean.

Hi everyone.  I'm heading up north (3 hours  north or so) to check out a possibility of a DD to add to my new household.  I'll let you know how it pans out.

I'm off.
