Bruce, if I can make the trip to L.A. I will be staying with my brother & not in the valley.  The valley friend will have gone to San Clemente to set up for the bridal shower which leaves me without a way to get there unless I skip LA & fly in and out of John Wayne.

You can stay here if it's better for you.  There's a nice guest room.  Otherwise, I'm sure we can get you and bring you wherever you need to go.

Craig went to the library for me and picked up four books I had on hold.  Of course the first one I want to read is the heaviest, by far, to hold.  I think I shall begin with the little book before reading the big one.

You really need a Nook or a Kindle. You could read anything and it wouldn't be too heavy.  Many libraries have downloadable books

I wanted to stain the garage, but they predicted rain tonight (now they say no) and the can said not to use it if there will be rain in 24 hours. So....

So I decided to take the screens out of the gazebo, wash them and then take them in the garage so I can scrape, sand and paint them

As I was figuring out where I was going to work on them in the garage I noticed the 4 old cat carriers I had in the garage.  They are different styles and sizes.  They were dirty but in good shape, so I decided to clean them up and donate them to the Humane Society to help them with the flood animals

So I washed the carriers and the screens.  When I finished I was drenched with water, lol

I did one load of laundry, but stopped because I don't leave the house with the dryer going

I dried the carriers and since they were disassembled, I put all the parts in plastic bags and taped them to the kennel they belonged to.

I delivered them to the shelter.   There is a huge levee around it right now.  It should be far enough from the river to not need it, but it's pretty bizarre to see a huge levee.  After finding a place to park, I took in the carriers, they were very happy to receive them and that I had cleaned them up so well before taking them in

The cats were really funny. They followed me around and were quite fascinated about the things I purchased.

So I relaxed for awhile. Then made seared scallops form the last of the scallops that were in my freezer

Then I scraped some of the screens, trimmed the bushes, pruned the fruit trees and pulled weeds around the yard.

It's been nice enough to have the windows open most of the day.  The cats are most pleased

I didn't really accomplish any of the chores I planned to do, but that's ok, these needed to be done too.

I really have no interest in the Casey Anthony trial but for some reason I'm watching the recap.   I know Cheney Mason, one of Casey's lawyers.
