My sister's husband's brother's house in Minot, ND is underwater.

Excellent post, Larry.  I always thought there was a Masters or Doctoral Thesis in Rodgers' use of the augmented fourth.

Or perhaps I should more clearly state his tendency toward the Lydian mode or sharp 4s in otherwise diatonic melodies.

Another wildfire in Arizona -- the Wash Fire, near Heber. 1000 acres so far.

And now...

Barry Bostwick Does Aerobics With Some Ladies From The 1980's*

*Gwen Verdon and Sandahl Bergman are included.

Now that was REALLY worthy of a mid-aerobic standing ovation.

Ok, I'm off to the unveiling of Paul's latest mural.  There will be a live jazz combo, drinks and food.   It's at a local laundrymat, lol

Odd place ;D  Will you be sharing a photo later?

It was a hoot!  Great music, the wine was served in laundry measuring cups, and the mural is fun too.   I have photos, I'll post some later.   The nice part of the evening was when the owner announced that he was donating detergent and free washes to flood victims.  Cool fun evening.  Who would have thunk it.  I think most people showed up because they never dreamed they'd be going to a party at a landromat

JMK, why don't you start linking to your reviews - I'm sure folks here would like to read them, me included, and if it's just a click away then we probably will.

More Kitty seems to have thrown up her entire dinner.  At least it was just on the bathroom floor & not in the bedroom.

He is :)

My DC Richard just chased a ball across the floor and ran head first into a table leg.   Not much common sense. (Not a PhD either, lol)

Wash fire.....isn't that an oxymoron?

Well, darn-itl...Huguette Clark left me out of her will, after all.

Back to the drawing board.
You, too! What a skinflint!

I know, right! And after all we have done for her.

It's the same laundromat with the sign "Drop your pants here and you will get prompt attention"

Funny, that is the same sign on DR Jose's front door and I did not notice any laundry work going on there.

Sorry JMK though I'm not sure why being a PhD should make a difference.  Being smart doesn't guarantee morals or common sense.

good point!

JMK,

I am sorry to hear about sister's husband brother's home. The local NBC affiliate has been showing a feed from the Minot sation. It is heartbreaking to watch. They have increased the crest by 3 feet and they have told additional people in the valley to evacuate.

The scenes are numbing
