THE NOTES ACCORDING TO HOYLE
« on: July 05, 2011, 12:08:52 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were according to Hoyle and BK, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - according to Hoyle, who passed away in the 1700s whilst waiting for the cows to come home, it will be soon.

As promised, here are seven variations on cover options for Nudie Musical.  My dictum was I wanted it colorful, I wanted it to pop, I wanted it to have a sense of style and elegance and most of all fun and I wanted to use the Jimmy Pearsall chorus girl.  So, here they are - you'll notice some contain the cast over the title, some under - some contain two critic quotes, some don't - there are three variations on what we call "sparkly" the sparkly curtain - one with a yellow outfit, one with a gold outfit, and one with the standard black.  So, post comments about which grabs your eye, which gives you the most positive feeling, knowing what we were going for - whether you like the quotes or you like the bottom third with the empty look - whether you'd move the cast names below rather than above the title (on the steps, usually, for the ones with stairs).  I've already pretty much discounted two of these designs, but wanted to include them.  I've kind of narrowed it down to two designs, one of which I'm definitely favoring - but I need to narrow the details down - quotes or no quotes (I do think it helps give it perspective to include them), quotes in colored lettering or white (they're all in white, save for one in blue on one design, which I kind of like), and where the cast names should go.  These are absolutely in no particular order:

I wish I could have made these bigger so you could see the quotes, but you get the idea.  Keep in mind, we can change colors, we can move quotes, add them, delete them, etc.

My first instinct is that I like this one...maybe with the lettering in black.  But I do like the title only being in the outfit, not additionally on another line, like post #s 5 and 6.

On this one and post #6, I don't like the steps being empty.  I think that they need something...maybe the cast could be on the steps.  Not in one line, but something like this:

starring:
Bruce Kimmel
Cindy Williams
Stephen Nathan

...so that there is a bit of depth.

I prefer this one  but I would remove the title of the show from below the chorus girl

In my opinion the small bright "spotlight" on top of the larger less bright spotlight in 1-3  gives a "snow man" look which i find  distracting and makes it difficult to see the chorus girl properly

If you removed the nudes  I would like this one best - perhaps simpler would bring the eye to the name better

I don't know yet if we will go back to the city today or tomorrow. It depends on Mr. Morelli. We have a couple of things to do so we may stay another day and leave tomorrow. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow in the late afternoon so we don't have to leave at the crack of dawn if we leave tomorrow.

I'm listening to Russell Davies on BBC and eating my oatmeal, raisins, strawberries and cinnamon with coffee as I sit on the patio at 6:55am. It's quiet and pleasant. Nice to be off work for the rest of the week.

I tend to agree with this and with George's comment about the one needing type on the steps of the other.
