Yes DR ELMORE it was directed at you.

These are committee reports.....I am chairperson of the Promotions/Website Committee, and the soon to be obsolete 50th Anniversary Celebration Committee (tomorrow will be the final report of said committee).

We have several committees that will be reported on, but my reports are always the funniest.

BIG BROTHER LIVE FEED SPOILERS

*
*
*

For those who mentioned it, Evel Dick has left the Big Brother house. They have not said why yet. There was lots of speculation.  But he did tweet saying that he was not in jail, his son/girlfriend were not sick and he was not thrown out of the game. He gonna say what happened in a video in the next couple of days.

For anyone who loves live feed spoilers (i.e., what is happening in real time not on the show as they show it) i love hamsterwatch.com (and Dingo is on facebook doing updates).

Wonder if he's got a health problem

Good Evening!

Tonight's second preview of Oklahoma! went very well. I played some "interesting" notes and sounds in a few places tonight, but at least those moments just caused some giggles and smiles rather than "daggers".

We have two shows tomorrow. -Which means we also have our first "band dinner" between shows. :)

As I was getting into my car to head home, I thought I recognized the woman getting into the car next to mine. "Karen?" -And sure enough, it was Karen! We met when I was 17-years old! She used to run one of the community theatre companies in DC. When I did Baby!, she was Arlene. She was also one of the first people I came out to.

We had reconnected via Facebook a few years ago, but this was first time we had seen each other in person in 20 years! -And we'll be making plans to see each other again while I'm in town. :)

I got a lot done today, but it didn't really feel like it, if that makes any sense.  I went to shopko and found 2 patio rugs on sale that will work on my deck to cover the holes and cracks.  I did find a rotten board on the bench, but an old table I stained yesterday since I had the stain out, really looks good and I think it will fit in the gap caused if I take that board out.

I also found 2 large patio rugs (they are REALLY on sale right now) that I put together in the room in the basement.  It's not a permanent solution but it looks pretty good and will make the room presentable for the party.  It's supposed to be in the 90s that day, so the party may end up being inside

I also figured out what was wrong with the toilet....In a nutshell, it had a flush actuator installed rather than just a flapper.  I didn't know what the heck it was, anyway, figured it out, was able to remove the faulty part and put in an old fashioned flapper.  It's working again.  Woo hoo.

Oh, I also found the paint for my lions.  I have two lions out front and they aren't really cement they are clay painted to look like cement.  Anyway, I couldn't find the paint to touch them up anywhere.  Finally, I found the one store in town that still carries it.

Then just to go into my 50th year in style, I colored my hair.  It doesn't look much different, just got rid of the gray

The storms haven't hit us yet.  I should have watered the trees tonight, but I thought it was going to rain.   Anyway, if it isn't raining in the morning I will get the deck painted.   I'm not planning to get the gazebo done before the party.   I'll get out the powerwasher and clean it up in case anyone wants to go in there, but not going to sweat that.

I'm really pleased how things are going.   I'm not stressing about the things that need to get done, just doing them one by one.  I tend to do that every July.

In other news...

Since I needed a new pair of jeans to wear in the "schoolhouse" as well as for my own personal use, I decided to head to the mall before heading into the theatre earlier this afternoon. I had hoped to buy my usual pair of jeans at Banana Republic, but they seemed to change the cut and fit of their Straight Leg jeans. Again. So, I headed to Old Navy and found a serviceable pair there. I also ended up buying a new pair of shoes too since my current pair of New Balance cross-trainers are truly on their last leg (sole?).

After I finished my shopping, I headed back to the parking garage where I proceeded to walk around for a couple of minutes trying to remember where I had parked. Once I found the car, I loaded my purchases into the trunk. Then when I went to get into the driver's seat, I noticed that I didn't have the car keys in my hand, nor in my pockets. I had locked my keys in the trunk!

Thankfully - and luckily - I had not placed my bag in the trunk, nor my phone, so I was able to call my brother - who, luckily, was at home - and ask him to bring his spare key. -I'm driving his other car while I'm down here.

...And I made it to the theatre by the half-hour call.

Whew!

They didn't mow my yard on Thursday.  I called and was told that it probably looked like it didn't need it.   Yeah, if you don't have eyes it didn't need it.  Anyway, he promised they'd do the yard on Thursday or Friday next week and make sure it really looks good.

Well... I've made some tentative plans to meet some folks downtown before tomorrow's matinee to attend the last day of the Smithsonian's Folk Life Festival. There's also some sort of paella event/tasting event going on in Penn Quarter, so... We shall see.  In any case, I should get some sleep.

Goodnight.

Just got in - DD Ben found the first four pages of the homemade key 2 book for Curtains as well as the knobs on my Korg Triton to his liking when I was gone.  All but 1 knob is salvageable and I am able to re-print the pages he enjoyed.  DD is getting rather comfy when left alone.... the honeymoon is over.

We've had some good casting news and we're almost done now.  We have our guest star - Rex Smith.  And we have Camille Saviola.  She'd come to one of our early shows and asked if she could do one and since I needed a Judy Kaye kind of performer, she seemed like the ticket for this one.
