bk - Reading about your prep for your upcoming NYC trip really makes sad(?) that I won't be there next week. At least I'll be seeing you (a lot) come November. ;)

Oh....and Happy 100th Birthday:

DR JRand - The Library of Congress just opened a new exhibit about "I Love Lucy". Apparently, the buzz was so great about it the people started showing up to check it out before it was even open.

Saturday morning greetings!  I had a bit of sleeplessness around 5am, so I slept a little later to make up for it.  No specific plans for today, so I may get started on the part of the rehearsal dinner centerpieces that the florist suggested I make myself (weights for balloon bouquets).

And speaking of engagements...

A week from today I will be in San Diego for my youngest brother's wedding. Here is one of their engagement photos:

Oh... Now that the coffee has finally kicked in, I guess the word I was looking for was "disappointed". Or "heartbroken". ;)

TOD:

Walkabout
Rabbit-Proof Fence
Three Kings
Japanese Story
Road Warrior (I guess I like the Australian desert since four of these are set there)

I'm sure there are more especially the 1930s, but I can't think of anything now.

Here's how I found FJL's spoof on Lauren Ambrose's casting:

And here's an 11-year-old Lauren on "Star Search." She's actually better than her competitor, IMHO:

I had a lovely breakfast with Susanna Tarjan. Her husband Peter did not join us today. Much was discussed and I got to see the latest photos of her three grandchildren who are truly adorable.

I'm ready for a nap. Around 5 am this morning, we had another noisy round of street scrapers. I guess 82nd Street will get new asphalt next week.

BK, if some of the screencaps to which you refer are mine, you should know that all Blu-ray.com screencaps are actually measured with a spectrometer to be absolutely accurate.  These are straight ports over from the BD with no futzing whatsoever and we have an extremely obsessive compulsive site administrator who makes sure all screencaps are "color neutral" (i.e., blacks at 0).  So if your display is different, it's because that's how it's set, not because that's how the BD looks without any alteration.
