DR Elmore, the e-mail you got made me smile! It is nice to know you are appreciated!!

That is really kind, Mikey, given all the horrible crap I make up and say about you.

Mikey, guess who flew to New York from Dublin today? The Irish Firemen's Football Team; they'll be in NYC for a week playing games, and you would be very happy to meet them, I do believe.

Be safe everyone.  Candles work if you don't have batteries.  I have some great Emergency Candles that are in tall glass jars so I feel safe leaving them lit for awhile

The only safe way, IMHO, to light candles if you are going to walk away from them.

We just stick votive candles in old-fahion glasses

Here are two of my favorite people from Dublin, Rachel Kelly and my new BFF Joe Csibi, who reminds me a lot of my drummer friend Chris.

After the sessions ended, I got this truly moving email from our leading tenor, Eamonn Mulhall. I don't like to blow my own horn so much as to report on what I'm up to,  but I did want to share this with you.  I never stop to think what people I work with think of me, I just do my job, and I had one of my best working experiences in Dublin. I also never get such emails as this:
Thank you for all your coaching and advice. I hope you appreciate that everyone's face in the cast and orchestra would light up when you swung the door open on the stage. You're a true gem!

That's very nice, Elmore. :)

My hairdresser told me today about some make-up that brides use to hide their tattoos from their mothers.  We're off in search of said substance for the purpose of covering the bruises on my arms.  With all the blood thinning medication I take, all I have to do is unload a car full of groceries and my arms are all black and blue.  I'd hate for that to show up in Rob and Mary Linda's wedding photos.

Bye for now!

I had no idea such a product existed.  Even if you don't need it I'm sure you will feel more relaxed having it with you.

It's not just for brides...stage actors need it, too.

Well, all the "coastal areas" of Delaware are under mandatory evacuation; fortunately we miss the designated area by about two blocks.

The Gov has  ordered private businesses to close Saturday and into Sunday until the order is lifted.

Woody has just received a call making his work day 6AM to 2PM.

Evacualtion must be complete by 9AM tomorrow.

Of course if you didn't happen upon the County web site and have Adobe software on your computer, you'd have no idea where the evacuation areas are.

(And the state admits they have no resources to enfore an evacuation.)

To help with an evacuation, all the gas stations have closed.

It's also handy for abused wives to hide the bruises.

Mission accomplished!  I am now the proud owner of Dermablend Professional Cover Creme and Setting Powder.  I also bought some sparkly blue eyeshadow.  It was my first visit to an Ulta Beauty store, but it probably won't be my last  8)

Well, there's that, DR der Brucer...

Anyway, the box says it's "Full coverage foundation for moderate to major skin flaws."

I'm having an amusing "conversation" with some buffoon who must own blu-ray.com or be one of its Nazi policemen.  As occasionally happens, I received a rebuke (privately) from him for critiquing the personality of the reviewers (never mind that I was making a general statement in response to someone else's post).  I asked him to please point out where I critiqued the personality of a reviewer on his site.  We've now volleyed back and forth a few times and funnily he has not provided an example of where I critiqued the personality of a reviewer on his site.  Funny that.  Perhaps JMK can tell us who this buffoon really is and maybe pass on to him that he's behaving not only like a police state official but a horse's rectal cavity as well - he goes by the name of Pro-Bassoonist.  If he is a Pro-Bassoonist perhaps that is explanation enough.  What a peckerwood.

I also returned with CDs from some of the personnel in our EILEEN orchestra, so I'll be litening to them all this weekend:

Our trumpeter Niall O'Sullivan does Irish tunes and popular songs
Our principal cellist Gerald Peregrine is the nephew of my late friend Frank Patterson and our friend Joe Csibi is his arranger for his recording; Gerald's cousin Geraldine, a niece of Frank Patterson's, was our harpist
Our concertmaster Fionnuala Hunt gave me two recordings: her Tango album and "Irish Fantasy," an album she did with her sister Una Hunt (my beloved Rachel Kelly's mother)

Nice collection there DR ELMORE....

Hootenanny Hoot is a classic - in that you can't believe you are seeing most of the old MGM backlot in such a cheapjack Sam Katzman Clover Production......

Among the buildings - Tate College, The Old Southern Mansion, and the small town courthouse.

Of course as I expect folks are stalking up on essentials.

We are fresh out of stalkers (but the store is out of D Cell Batteries and Milk)

der Brucer

Out of milk.  Interdesting.  I think I would stock up on water, before I stocked up on milk.

We are fine here in Manhattan. We are not in any "zone" so we don't have to evacuate. We are in the middle of the city away from both the East River and the Hudson River. Things are calm now but the wind and rain are not supposed to start until some time tomorrow. I think Deb on Long Island will have it worse than us in Manhattan.

We plan on staying in all weekend and watching Season 4 of Doc Martin and whatever else comes across our screens.

I have some soy milk, mainly because I don't normally buy regular milk because of the short shelf life...the soy milk stays good for a year (unopened, of course)!
