One of the best things about having double birthdays on this site; is not having to worry about hitting an all-time low in posts.

I think it's nice to get back from Dublin and know you're not facing amputation!

The hurricane rushing up the Eastern Seaboard reminds me of when we were at the Titanic site in 1996.  The team was fighting and fighting to raise that large section of the hull; and they had it within 200 feet of the surface.  Our Captain kept telling us that we had to leave for Boston, because Hurricane Edouard was going to run smack into us if we waited.  We kept begging for a couple more hours, but finally we headed home.  The recovery ship tried to pull the section of the hull to shallower waters, but the last cables snapped, and the section sank back to the bottom for an additional two years.

Until later.

I would ask everyone to please consider that the site is my employer and I have colleagues and friends there.  Perhaps barbed commeentary could be kept to PMs.  I would appreciate it.

When people behave like jerks I think they deserve to be called on it.  Especially when they behave like little despots.  It really rankles me.  I understand that you review for them ("employer" seems a little odd to me) and I will refrain from further comment on this board and will say anything I have to say via e-mail to you personally.

Finished viewing one motion picture on DVD and may try another, but I think since I only ate a Chinese chicken salad for lunch maybe I should get a snack.

Well the stores are out of milk ,bread, ice and batteries

water bottles are scarce as hen's teeth

nothing left to do but sit tight and hope that we don;t get hit too hard

the worst hurricane I have experienced was Gloria back in 1986 - we were without electricity for a week then

of course having seen the damages in Joplin and New Orleans  I know that was merely an inconvenience

DR TCB - The current plan is that all performances of Oklahoma! will go on as scheduled this weekend. However, Arena has waived the exchange fee for those patrons who wish not to attend Saturday evening's performance. Otherwise, we're just waiting to see what the District government says once the storm is actually in the area.

*I already packed an overnight bag of clothes since I'm not looking forward to driving back out to Fairfax after tomorrow night's show.
