Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back from Lima where, after church, I attended the ladies' guild meeting and then accompanied Fr. Richard on a home visit to a couple who are both in poor health.  The wife was just diagnosed this week with Parkinson's, which didn't surprise me in the least.  We stopped for lunch at Culver's in Sidney and I drove from there.  We must have passed Mary Linda somewhere on I-75, because Rob said she'd been gone about an hour when we arrived.

I'm ready for a nap...

Been mainly sunny and warm here today. September has been pretty good, weather wise so far, which partly makes up for the terrible summer London has had.

Been watching NIGHT OF THE HUNTER again. What a great film! And a pity that Charles Laughton never directed another film.

Must start packing now because tomorrow I fly away for my first ever visit to Turkey, where I'm staying in Istanbul for five days.

I'm just finishing Laurie King's FOLLY. I REALLY like this book! When I first learned of it I was knee-deep in restoring my old house, and a novel about a woman who was rebuilding an old house while fighting off mental demons was...well, not too appealing. I've really enjoyed it.

A dear lady from my church has been called home -- rest secure in the Lord's love, Marion; we will miss you terribly.

I'm so sorry, Vixmom.  My condolences.

:( At least she's in heaven now. How ironic that there was a baptism the day of her wake...

How is everyone else doing? And yay to Jane for hero status!

Nice to see the vixster posting!

Off to a wine dinner in a minute. A limo will be picking me up, so I can actually enjoy the drinking this time. I don't think I've ever been in a limo before.

Laura would be much higher than 10,000 postings, but started anew when we had the board meltdown.

I had 9523 under the old name. I just decided to stay with the shorter name, since the other Laura had left a long time ago.

Daisy is a beautiful cat. DR Doug, I don't know if you had been reading for a while before you joined us, but I often foster for a local animal shelter. I just turned in my last two kittens for adoptions. I usually take in mothers with tiny babies.

Good Evening!

Well... We had another between-show potluck dinner... Well, Molly Smith, the Artistic Director, cooked the entrees - the pork roast and the chicken - and various people brought in side dishes and desserts. Lots of side dishes and lots of desserts.

Needless to say, I ate a lot of food. -And since I was already falling asleep while(!) I was playing during the matinee, well... Tonight's performance could be quite interesting. ::)
