Only one more hour till take off.  It was either change planes or sit and wait for awhile. This isn't that bad

I would rather wait than switch planes.  Landing make me sick so the fewer the better.

It's not fixed. Probably won't be until the weather cools off enough that we can work out in the sun. It is still over 100 here. I've been saying there's whole sections where there's no water getting to the plants. Everything by the traffic light is dead. Things that should be lush and blooming are just trying to hang on.

Poor plants will all be dead before the work is done.  Is it too hot early in the mornings to do the work?

I am very proud of myself for taking the metro train to the airport.  I'm somewhat leary of taking the train by myself with luggage in a town I'm not familiar with, but I decided what the heck and it worked out great

Good for you.  I've taken trains from the airport but never to it.

Well, part of the trouble is that this guy is a night owl. He was still asleep when I called at 9:20. He waits until it gets hot to get started on anything.

They are having a work day on Saturday. I'm hoping that one of the things on their list is the drip irrigation system.

And since the station was across the street from Busch Stadium....and because the cardinals on the shirts in the window of the team store looked so cute.....I bought a shirt.  The security lady was following me as I wheeled around my bag in the store, so I got her involved in helping me pick out a shirt

Good attitude instead of getting insulted. ;)

I've been taking the bus whenever I go to LA for meetings. Saves someone a lot of time having to drive to the airport to pick me up.

The bus from home or from the airport?  I would rather take a train than a bus.

I will say St Louis has the deadest down town of any city I've been in in a very long time.  I knew there weren't a lot of people living here, but there don't seem to be people working downtown either.  Strange to be going to work and there is no one on the street or sidewalk.  Someone told me everyone has moved west.  I  think he means western St. Louis suburbs but after visiting the Western Expansion Museum, it made me chuckle

I still "get" to drive for 2 hours to get home once I get to Omaha, but it's the last leg, so I don't mind

Craig is going to a wedding in Connecticut this weekend & has 3 flights booked in each direction.  His first "layover"  is only 30 minutes.  He is hoping to miss his connection & that the airline will skip the second layover & send him directly to his destination.  He has that same 30 minutes on his return trip.

I take the bus from the airport to the District Office. And back. There's a train station at one of the transit stations, but I don't think it goes to the airport. In fact, the bus doesn't go to the airport -- I have to walk a half mile or so to get to the airport from the bus stop.

Very. I carry more stuff to chase butterflies than I take on a weekend of meetings.

One change of clothes, one ziplock of personal things, a folder for papers, and my wee laptop are all I need for a weekend of meetings.

With all due respect to Mr. Haines, but if he has enough time to do a new CD and to sing at an event honoring Michelle Nicastro; I would think he would have enough time to drop in here once in a while.  In all of the years I have been posting at HHW, I have yet to chat with Mr. Haines.

Or else ask people who watch the preview to "sort-of promise" they'll also tune in when it's on YouTube, which I assume is kosher

You Tube is kosher?  I never knew that.  And I only have one set of platters.

Morning all. I arrived in Istanbul late last night, with my sister and niece (my brother's daughter) after a rather bumpy flight. Had problems at first in accessing the hotel wi fi network but am relieved to be connected to the internet world again! I requested a change to the room I was given because it was not what I had asked for so that caused some hassle as well. Very (too) hot here but a very fascinating city with lots to see and do.

Is this strickly a vacation trip, Doug R?
