Well, you've read the notes, the notes were high and had a few points, and now it is time for you to post until the high and pointy cows come home.

As a curiosity factor I will probably watch the final episode of All My Children.

I never really watched the show over the years, but final episodes are always fun to watch.

DR MICHAEL S - I have watched the DVD of MMMMW - and in his first scene with lots of dancing - there does seem to be some exposure by Mr Dick Shawn.....however, it is probably the lining in this swim trunks rather than anything else.

TOD:

DVD - The Bridesmaids, which was funny....but so LONG....and some of it was not pleasant.  It was nice to see Mr Jon Hamm in a movie, and most of the actresses were very good - I even liked Maya Rudolph, and I usually don't.

CD: Bikini Beat (recommended by DR MBARNUM - 60's & 70's party music from Italian films.

I'm listening to Marry Me A Little, the 1981 Off-Broadway show of what was then obscure Sondheim songs. I forgot how much I like this show.

Is today the final episode?  I'll have to try to get Tivo to record it (though Tivo is on his last legs these days...)

I was a semi-faithful AMC fan during its heydays in the late 70s/early to mid 80's.  As I recall, the acting was more than decent for daytime and the writing solid--it was probably the only soap that never went with the outrageous sci-fi/supernatural storylines that the other soaps came up with in those days.  But I can't speak for its recent quality--I haven't seen an episode in the last twenty years.

MEdia Check:

iPod:  Nothing.  I seem to have developed an aversion to earphones lately--I just can't relax and listen to music played that way

Tivo:  the inner mechanisms of my Tivo seem to be going kaput.  I set it to record something and it either quits half way through or records a different channel alltogether.  Time to look at a new unit, I'm thinking...

DVD:  catching up on the superhero movies of the summer:  THOR, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.  My sister dropped off BRIDESMAIDS, but I refuse to watch it because I cannot stand the extremely overrated Kristen Wiig.

Re Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Doesn't Ms. Merman show much of her chest when the keys are being taken from her in the scene where she's turned upside down and shaken?

Or is that the director's cut?

BRIDESMAIDS does feature one of my absolute favorites, Maya Rudolph, who is co-starring in the new sitcom UP ALL NIGHT.  While she is a hoot on the show, I don't think it's very funny.  And I think that the child they are using is far too old to be at that "up all night" stage.

THE JETSONS premiered on this date forty-nine years ago.  It was the first color program broadcast by ABC.

I'm surprised that Hollywood never made a live-action version.  I think I wouldn't mind seeing that.

Yes Ethel Merman has a couple of scenes where her ... well... yes they are in good shape, upside down.

I don't like Kristen Wiig either.....but she is okay in Bridesmaids....although several scenes are sketch-like in the the writing....I guess we can only be glad that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are no where to be seen.

I prefer to listen to music going "through the air" too rather than directly to my eardrums. Even when I'm in a "workout" mode, I'd rather set my own pace and rhythm instead of matching it up to some song on my iPod.

And then there was that episode from "Three's Company" where John Ritter was showing a "little brain" while walking in the kitchen set in a pair of shorts.

Good morning, all! I didn't get to bed before 2am, so i slept in this morning; I got about 6.5 hrs of sleep last night, and that means I'll be unconscious by 10 tonight.

Yesterday was a really good day, so I'm staying around the apartment. doing some marketing, doing some writing.  We'll see how it goes.

DR Ben, I saw the original production of MARRY ME A LITTLE; it was quite wonderful, and I love the CD.

TOD:
DVD:  the three Netflix still sit here and I've forgotten what they are!
CD:  Academy Award Songs, Bob Hope, Guy Haines
    VCR: short art films

Friday morning greetings!  It's raining here in SW Ohio and I fully expect a call from my mother canceling our shopping trip.  The weather is supposed to clear up by late morning, though, so I'm going to assume that we're still a GO.

Good morning, all!

DR Ben, I saw the original production of MARRY ME A LITTLE; it was quite wonderful, and I love the CD.

I saw it too, although I saw the original, original show mounted Off-Off Broadway by The Production Company. I didn't see the Actors Playhouse move because I was out of town at the time and it didn't have a long run. The Off-Off Broadway production was at a hole in the wall in Chelsea which I don't think even exists anymore. I remember that Craig Lucas asked Sondheim for permission to do the show with Norman Rene when Lucas was still in the ensemble of Sweeney.

We are doing laundry when I get home from work then we will have dinner out someplace.

Tomorrow it's supposed to rain and be cloudy so we will watch something, perhaps Lillian Russell starring Alice Faye and Don Ameche.

Sunday I'm going to the Broadway Cares Flea Market (I may see DR Kevin H. there as well) and I'll be doing Mr. Moore (and Mr. Raines) a favor while I'm up there.
