DR TCB - I found a copy of the Video release of BACK STREET to download, I am hoping though that the version on TCM is some kind of widescreen....surely it was filmed that way in 1961.

DR Cillaliz - congratulations on your decision to get the mixer!  I've always wanted a KitchenAid, too.  We live a little over an hour away from the KitchenAid Experience Center - maybe I'll take a road trip soon!

According to an AOL report, six Pan Am stewardess of years ago watched and loved the TV series based on their line of work.

Their one and only accuracy issue (a small issue) was the hair requirement that hair be above the jaw line.

AND, I did some more investigating about the rewards points and the kitchenaid mixer....it's the 5 quart and is something I would never buy for myself but have wanted for years, so...I spent my rewards points and ordered it.  It means I don't have the points for a trip, but I decided this is something I've always wanted and will be able to use it every day.  I can't wait for it to arrive.

Wishes you are very happy with it.

Thanks Jane, I think I will be.  The decision was a trip I would enjoy for a few days or a mixer I could use for years...I'm turning into a home-body more all the time...the mixer won

My sister has a Kitchenaid mixter and she loves it...and uses it all the time.

I could record it for you, Jack...if you want a burned DVD from TCM. :)

They just had a commercial for the next episode of GLEE.  The teacher asks the class, "What is the capital of Ohio?"

Brittany raises her hand and says, "O."

I am sorry, but that just cracked me up.

DR TCB, I love Brittany and this cracked me up, too.

I saw the commercial the other day and found it very funny.

From Cilla:
Quote
Ricky got his head caught between the metal slat thingys on the back of the bar stool in the kitchen.

Years ago we were pet sitting a German Shepard puppy when something similar happened.  At least the puppy stayed calm as I was sitting next to her in the chair she got her head stuck in.  Keith was home & helped me get her unstuck.

Vibes this doesn't happen again!!!!!

Ricky was in full panic mode, I was afraid that he was going to fall off the chair and hang himself.  Anyway, I was there and the gash in my arm was worth it as he wasn't hurt.

The pillowcases on the backs as chair covers actually look nice and will stop him from putting his head in there again.  I'm going to go to Walmart or Shopko and see if I can find a color that will work better and not get dirty fast - I have off white on them right now.

My sheets are off-white, also.  Well, at least they look that way today.

Jose, my sympathies on your DC commute. I learned the hard way to allow an extra twenty minutes any time I had to drive to DC. You just never know what the problem will be: Presidential motorcade, a parade, construction, or just heavy traffic. I sat on the Key Bridge for twenty minutes one day--traffic into DC was horrendous. In LA, at least, there is usually an alternate route. That if often not so in Washington.

Interesting & informative as we plan to watch it.  If I think about it stewardesses did have their hair swept up.

Yes, but today it was the Seattle traffic that got messed up by the President, making half the crowd late for the start of the Seahawks game.

Hmmm, the way the Seahawks are playing, maybe that wasn't the reason that the crowd was late.
