From bk -

Quote
Back from the Michelle Nicastro event - some of which was very touching.  Guy Haines was a no-show so I had to sing When You Wish Upon A Star - it went very well - I get really nervous in public these days when singing (except at the Kritzerland shows, where I feel completely at ease and comfy whether speaking or singing), but I got through it with no mishaps and got a very nice hand.  When they announced Guy, I got up and went to the stage and said I'd just gotten a text from him and that he was down on Olympic doing the triathlon - which he thought meant three blocks.  He was lying on the sidewalk and unable to get to Hollywood.

Sounds like it was a beautiful service for a beautiful person.

DR George - There have been at least two versions Tosca that were filmed "on location". I do like the "live" sets, however, the lip-syncing bothers me.

I'm not a fan of operatic lip-syncing, either.  But I remember reading about two versions of Tosca...I think they were filmed 20 years apart.

Disney movie songs.....most of mine are from the classic era......

Summer Magic and many other songs from that movie......

Most of the more recent ones seem to be manufactured rather than written.....I HATE THE LION KING, thank you....and especially MULAN and HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME or whatever it was called.  My not caring started at about the time of JUNGLE BOOK and SWORD IN THE STONE......

Some of the songs from THE LITTLE MERMAID are nice.....but not as choreographed by Debbie Allen.

I love, Love, LOVE (that's three LOVEs) the score to HUNCHBACK...AND especially the German cast recording.  I've only actually seen the movie once.

Or we're just doing some piano-only tracks for the choreographer since a majority of the Dance Music from BFS has never been recorded.

bk - I'm sorry you had to sit through South Street.

-I'm just wondering why, after all of their recent major financial issues, that Pasadena Playhouse would risk taking on such a venture. Yes, it's good to support new writers and talent, but someone with absolutely no previous track record in musicals? ???

No risk at all, save to their reputation - they put no money into it - fully funded by the apparently deep-pocketed producer.

Did the four-mile jog, continuing to listen to our new master and we've already made two little adjustments to it that helped - minor on two tracks but now everything sounds great.  And look what we made - those with good eyesight will now know what our very special 100th release is:

DR Jane - Glad to read that Craig's travel adventures were not too "adventurous".

Thank you.  He had a good time in Connecticut with about 15 of his friends who where at the wedding.  The following day the grooms parents hosted a BBQ at their house.

BK, could you possibly print out order forms for Blu and Rays of NUDIE, then you could have people fill out the form, pay for it, and then you can ship it when you get home.  I have never been to a Hollywood Show, so I have no idea how it works, but it seems crazy to have to  figure out how many you have to ship to Chicago.

Well, the point is that they'd get to Cindy there so she could also sign, but yes, I will have an order form or at least a flyer that tells them how to get to the site.  I shipped about twenty-five of them (can't imagine selling more than that, along with fourteen books (I've never sold over three or four books at any of these shows - this one is different, of course), and all the photographs.  The two photos I have that have Cindy in them I only had twenty-five of each - I could conceivably sell out of those but if it's like the Hollywood show someone will be there who can print up more.

A coworker and a fellow actor came to me last year and said that he was adapting a film into a play.  He asked my opinion about it, but not having read any of his original work I had no idea how he would do with "work."  So, I told him to make sure that he let lots of people read the play, write out there comments, and then go through them and figure out which ones are valid changes or corrections.  And I told him that whatever he did, he should not direct the first production.

Well, he said that he had lots of people read the play (I was not included) and they all loved the play as is.  Also, everyone saidthat he should direct the show himself.  I don't know why he bothered to ask me, if he didn't want my opinion.  The show is opening this week or next, and I haven't decided whether or not to go and see it.

I've watched a number of the new fall shows and have yet to find anything I'll return to for a second week.

I like the chemistry of the three leads in UP ALL NIGHT, and the first episode was very funny.  I am just not sure that I liked it enough to make it a weekly event.

The new show we are super excited about really isn't new.  DR Jeanne suggested I watch SHERLOCK and we loved it.

Thank you DR Jeanne and thank you DR's who reinforced her suggested.  I can play a guessing game who you are but I apologize I'm not sure.  Feel free to remind me.  I thought about doing a search for SHERLOCK.  I can only imagine how many posts that would bring up for my Sherlock.

I had a nice time at the Flea Market.   I enjoyed seeing DR Ben and catching up with him.  Later I met my friend Robin and her mother after they arrived from Florida.   We walked around the Flea Market and watched a lot of the auction and had an early dinner at Carmine's.  It was great!

And which celebs did you see, KevinH?

Especially for you JRand, here is a dance contest clip from the Bollywood film CHA, CHA, CHA where that gal can be seen. She (Edwina is her name) is shown shortly after the music gets going. She has very long hair and the camera catches them just as she and her dance partner twirl.

Her brother is in there dancing also. Just find the tallest, lankiest man.

I love this movie!

Curiosity got the better of me and I searched SHERLOCK.  I was able to see that I also owe a thank you to DR Jose.  It seems I will have to wait for the second disc to watch the special features.
