We haven't watched 60 MINUTES in a long time, however, I have set it to record on Sunday to see Andy Rooney say goodbye.  He is 92, wow!

So here's something pretty cool...Larry Miller (a comedian) was on David Letterman a few days ago and he will be coming to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, here in Olympia, next month.  In the first 20 seconds of Dave's introduction of Larry, he said, "On October 20, he will bring his one-man show entitled, "Cocktails With Larry Miller" to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia, Washington...."

Pretty darned cool!  I don't think that the WCPA has ever been mentioned on national TV before! ;D

When Johnny Carson was still on the Tonight Show, the Puyallup Valley Daffodil Festival would send the show this huge spray of daffodils to be used on the set.  I used to love to listen to Carson try and pronounce Puyallup.  I figured that was the only time that Puyallup was ever mentioned on national television.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Today I'm having lunch with my friend Becky, who I only get to see about twice a year.  She and her husband have a home near here, but they travel for huge chunks of time on their boat and they spend the winters in California near his son's family.  We have a lot of catching up to do today.

Do they sail their boat to California?

TOD:

Jolly Ranchers and those little boxes of Rice Candy which we thought were so cool because you could eat the wrapper.

How about that?  You were even weird when you were a kid.

Ate some matzo brei and have been busy ever since.  Can't remember if I mentioned doing the four-mile jog, but I did.  I've been writing press releases, listening to masters, and it's just been ENDLESS.  But, I just sent out the following press release to three websites, so I guess we're real now:

Kritzerland is proud to present its first web series, premiering on November 6!

OUTSIDE THE BOX
Created by Bruce Kimmel

Outside The Box is a new musical comedy web series about a very outré musical theatre group called Outside The Box.  Each episode features an entirely new cast, save for one recurring character, the director of the group.  Each episode features between one and three musical numbers.  The first episode of six (comprising season one) will premiere November 6 on YouTube (the YouTube channel is outsidetheboxseries), with new episodes every two weeks.

The first season features a wonderful array of performers, including (in alphabetical order), Matthew Ashford (Days Of Our Lives), Jason Graae (Forever Plaid, The Grand Tour, Falsettos), Gregory Harrison (Steel Pier, Follies, Chicago, Trapper John), Melody Hollis (White Christmas on Broadway), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, Chicago) Beth Leavel (Tony-winner for The Drowsy Chaperone, Baby, It’s You), Barry Pearl (Baby, It’s You, Doody in the film of Grease), Sandy Rosenberg (Mamma Mia), and more.

Written and directed by Bruce Kimmel, each episode features songs by Kimmel – the Outside The Box theme is by Grant Geissman, composer of Two-And-A-Half Men and Mike and Molly.   Kimmel wrote and directed the cult comedy classic film, The First Nudie Musical, and is a long-time Grammy-nominated record producer, having produced over 180 albums, including cast albums (The King and I, Hello, Dolly, Bells Are Ringing, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, etc.), concept albums (Lost In Boston, Unsung Musicals), singers (including Petula Clark, Helen Reddy, Liz Callaway, Laurie Beechman, Judy Kuhn, Judy Kaye, Rebecca Luker, Brent Barrett, Jason Graae, Michelle Nicastro, Christiane Noll, and many others), as well as a historic series of jazz cover versions of Sondheim shows with The Trotter Trio.   His label Kritzerland is about to release its 100th CD.

Outside The Box is shot on location in New York and Los Angeles.

PREMIERING ON NOVEMBER 6!  EPISODE ONE STARS BETH LEAVEL, MELODY HOLLIS, BARRY PEARL, and SANDY ROSENBERG.

I'm thinking about postponing my DC trip until I know the LoC will actually be open.

From what I read thsi morning, there will not be a government shut-down.

And speaking of government shut-down, The State of Wahington is short another 1.5 billion dollars, so the Governor is calling a special session of the Legislature for November.  The rumor rumblings are saying that the Governor wants a 10% cut in all state employee salaries.

We are starting with furloughs again, beginning next month, TCB. Then beginning in January we pay more for our insurance, just a bit more...but the following January it goes up a huge bit more.

The Union is saying that the State is going to hit us pretty hard with our next medical premiums.  Apparently, the state would like all of us to switch to Group Death.  I imagine they are offered a better deal.

This was a bad afternoon.  Mark, Stan's ex-son-in-law, sent me an e-mail telling me that he had left me a present on the chair in the entry hall.  I still have a key to the house and the truck.  I went over there this afternoon.  There is one step up to a cement slab in front of the door and then there is another step into the house.  The first step up is probably only six to eight inches high.  I took my time, and went very slowly; but I couldn't get my foot to go up on that slab.  Instead I took a tumble and ended up sprawled in the driveway.  There was no way to get myself up, so I had to crawl over to my car door and use that to get up off the ground.
