So, who's the woman who is annoyed because she brought her father to the club, MBarnum?

In other news...

DR JRand - The other day you asked when I would be on the podium for Oklahoma!, well... Alas, due to various factors, it just didn't work out for this run. The major factor was all the various cast injuries, understudies and replacements. Too many "new" people at various times throughout the run. The other factor was that my designated sub was only available at certain times during the run. Thankfully, he was available to cover me when I flew out for my brother's wedding, as well as when I went to SETC. The one "clear" week that would have worked for everyone was the week that he got married(!), so... And then he went on a two-week honeymoon to Hawaii. -And by the time he got back that was when our new Vivien/Laurie understudy was going into the show.

Am I disappointed? Well, I guess I am. A little. However, as I found out when I audited the conducting chair, with the way the Union's CBA is set up with Arena, I would have actually made less(!) money whenever I would have conducted than when I played. So... Like I said, a little. ;)

I'm just thankful that I had 14-weeks of work. -Which is 14 more weeks than some of my fellow musician-friends have had this year.

Thank You, DR Laura. I'm doing fine. I just keep getting those very annoying "twinges" every now and then. I had kidney stones a few years ago, and had forgotten just how long the symptoms can last, the "process" can take. Thankfully, it doesn't appear that I need any invasive medical procedures. I just need to make sure I'm staying hydrated. *And I'm thankful that my uncle/godfather is a gastroenterologist and still fits me in for quick check-ups when I'm in town.

Jose, I would normally say in 1977 when Nudie was released there and we took their censor board to court, but I think I've been there since and I just can't remember when or why, unless it was when I was a spokesperson for that software company in 1988.  But I think I may have even been there after that.

The City Yard Police are driving on my street. It doesn't appear he stopped outside my house.

Butterflies don't like neat tidy yards. So I refer to mine as "butterfly messy." I'm always afraid The City Yard Police will cite me.

Christopher Priest is one of my favorite authors and I've just bought his latest book THE ISLANDERS. His writing is very clever and invariably explores themes of alternate realities in which things are never quite what the reader thinks they are. His book THE PRESTIGE was made into a successful film but I disliked the film which was terribly disappointing compared to the book.

London is going through a heatwave! Sunny and 82 degrees today and getting hotter. Almost unheard of for this time of year but at least it makes up for the summer which went by without anyone seeing it.

It looks intriguing.  I'll be interested if you like it once you are finished reading.

Thank you DR's George & Ginny.

I return in a couple of weeks to see the doctor & get his opinion on the results.  The copies of the tests the technician gave me look promising as I have improved.

Oh Laura, I love you!

That lovely lady is Parveen Choudhary. She played leads in many B movies and second leads in A pictures, of which this was one. She seems to have disappeared, but I hope she is living a happy life someplace and will someday know how much I adore her as an actress.

Thanks DougR. You are now among my favorite HHWers! LOL!

The DVD of the movie does have English subtitles, although I don't recall if the songs are subtitled or not. Sometimes DVD companies subtitle the songs and sometimes not...I don't know why.

A good guess is that Helen is singing about love to Manoj Kumar. Actually, about love and how one's love can fade or go away...since her character is murdered shortly after this song.

You would be too if your to-be husband was carousing and singing with Helen, and in front of everyone.

Got cash, picked up a couple of packages, ate a Caesar salad with chicken, and am home and waiting for rehearsal.  I'm packed - and wondering how in tarnation we can still be on page three.

Anyone else going to see Phantom of the Opera live at a movie theater near you on Sunday?

http://www.fathomevents.com/performingarts/series/phantomoftheopera.aspx?utm_source=BroadwayWorld.com&utm_medium=FathomCampaign&utm_campaign=Phantom_SeriesPage_FathomEvents

It's not playing here in Olympia on Sunday, but it will be playing next Wednesday!  I'll be there!
